@likecreeper Only the actual water block can be used in the nether. A bucket wont work. Know your facts before you go against something. Plus, redstone wiring is all good, but you end up with too much anyway.

dude. you're using too many materials. you can make one with much less materials, without wasting anything. just make a hole in the ground 2 deep,3 wide, and 6 or 7 blocks long, and make the middle hole 3 deep, and fill the top space of the middle hole witha nonflammable material, then put water in the top of one side, and redstone on the bottom of the other side. then put lava in the centre of the side with the redstone. (the block above the redstone). takes less materials and redstone. simpler

I improved you design with some fancy redstone circuitry

its activated by button, and REQUIRES redstone be placed in all 4 lanes, or else it wont power on

Then its time based and automatically closes off the lava when the obsidian is done

Sure it was not necessary to make it work, but it stops you from accidently breaking it and flooding with cobble if you forget

#4 Lay down your redstone blocks

That won't work, and doesn't. In order to make Obsidian,WATER flowing over LAVA is required, not the other way around. Otherwise you get cobblestone.

@LavaCraftGames Yeah I saw your video. Your video is very bare-bones. My generator simply simply requires you to flick a switch and mine the obsidian. You need to pour, remove, get down in the chasm, and remove the obsidian each and every time.
