whoah...... after the reaction you had from the crop dusting dude, you filmed some military secrets..??? what's that strange van doing parked just down the road from your place..? just kiddin', lol.
that's a really interesting shot. i kinda think the light pollution adds to the photo.
@007tallguy This launch was pretty well known before hand and I had gotten a launch alert a few weeks before from spacearchive. I almost forgot to go out and shoot it. It would really be neat to see a shuttle launch though!
That's pretty wicked. You live around some interesting things. Offensively driving police officers. A helicopter crop duster. A missile launch site. I wonder what's next.
Hey I got some nice videos coming but I found out this problem on my LED TV and I will record a straight and still line and see wtf is up with it because its less than 3 months old and my family notices it whenever we watch something. But interested to watch in slow-mo.
@thinkbeforespeaking With the amount of light-pollution (street lamps, etc) I'm surprised it came out at all! This was my third attempt at trying to photograph a missile launch. At least I didn't forget to take the lens cap off this time! Thanks for the nice comment.
@hakjason Thank you! I am an amateur at this stuff and we pointed the camera at the wrong part of the sky, THEN we saw the bright red plume of the rocket. The rocket was probably going from 10,000 to 15,000 mph in this shot. It has to get past 17,000 mph to make it into orbit.
wow, jealous of your backyard! Mine is boring as shit!
