@MrNeeban Alonso & Arbeloa wanted to leave to return to their native Spain. Hyypia wanted first team football and at the time we sold him, he was probably our 4th/5th choice CB. Riise had a poor last few seasons in Liverpool (including that OG against Chelsea) so it was only a matter of time till he left.

Of course right now I'd rather have them compared to the likes of Konchesky and Poulsen, but you can't really blame Rafa.
