Before you go around spewing terms like pop-punk and the like you have to actually understand the term pop! Pop is short for popular so at that rate Ramones and Misfits and Dead Boys are also pop-punk because they are in fact popular.
Why are you ditching on Pop Punk? True Pop Punk is fucking awesome! Its not bullshit like Green Day's past few albums or Blink-182 after they got big, its just as underground as Punk was back in the day, and in many ways, its the best and purest Punk Rock has been since the true old days of The Clash and The Ramones. Go look up Screeching Weasel or The Queers, and I'm sure you'll love what you hear! Jawbreaker is a great Pop Punk band, and I wish they were still around!
go look up for Modernettes and for the sake of fact, tomorrow in Rome two punk rock bands of friends will open for the Queers (that i listen since i was 14).
