Maybe one of the best things in all of Dragon Age; Origins are the conversations between Alistair and Morrigan. Plain rudeness versus sarcasm, how epic is THAT?

Lastly, exploration.....virtual swimming...climbing...interacting with npcs...blah blah it all ties into the fun...I think that if you're not already into rpgs it's something that's kinda hard to explain even though I've tried here...I think it's more something you have to experience for yourself but if you can't ever get into any rpgs then rpgs just aren't for you. *sighs*

In my opinion the real draw of RPG is the fact you're role playing....you get to be somebody else whose life is more interesting than yours because they have to deal with monsters everyday and they can become famous or you can be evil.

While bioware IS great company that set many great standards for Top-over RPG's such as Balder's Gate, Neverwinter nights, and technically even KotOR, Bethesda in its own right has also set many great standards in FPS/TPS RPG's as well. You may not like the storyline yourself or its gameplay, but many people have enjoyed countless hours of Bethesda's creativity that is The Elder Scrolls series as well as their other games. Don't disregard them so easily.

Mehh Mass Effect is ok. The gameplay is verrry repetitive. The story is good but sometimes its like watching a movie. Its not very interactive.... in fact its barely even an RPG in many senses. The most interactive portion of the game is the dialogue.
Maybe I just prefer very long stories but you cant deny BGS puts more time and effort into each TES. Fallout is great too.
@KillahB89 I like BSG games. Had a lot of fun with MW and Oblivion. But do not forget that the scene in this video takes place in another plane and the visual effects for that are kinda blurry. Watch some more Origins video. They look better than this!=)
Dont worry, I wasnt really being specific to this video. Those were just my sentiments about Dragon Age. I like all types of RPGs but DA sometimes feels like a step backward

Hardly seems groundbreaking or fun.
I plan on getting ME3 just because Ive always dreamt about a game that let you import characters and continue your story, but Mass Effect is entirely too hands off. Very little worthwhile customization and the story is rather short.
@KillahB89 Ah yeah, I forgot that Mass effect had the whole Dialogue wheel thing going on. Still, for other RPGs I would definitely say that dialogue is probably on of the most important parts of the game, especially things like Planescape: Torment.
You ever played Baldurs Gate? The graphics aren't exactly modern (2d isometric view, kind of like Diablo II), but the story is definitely massive. Two games and two expansions, probably ~200 hours of game play, and it is one continuous story.

Try fighting as Mage. Alone. The large variety of spells and styles (Arcane Warrior is very different from just a regular mage, and Blood Magic is more risky, but anyways.) don't make it poke poke, if you use don't use the poke spells that is.

@CowHoofOnAHotPlate No mod here. Just choose Morrigan to enter the Fade and save Connor. I always get this if I let the mother alive and finish the Circle Tower's quest - Broken Circle, so I have the mages help to enter the Fade without the sacrifice. (But I see no reason why this wouldn't be the same if you let the mother sacrifice. Only if you kill Connor it wouldn't be possible, of course.)
i have passed the circle of magi quest and saved the tower but all the mages are dead so i couldn't perform the ritual and Conor or Isolde had to die! Is there a way to save the Circle and the mages to help me with Connor's abomination??
@MikaIreth If you want to load a save from before finishing the Circle Tower, yes. You don't have to kill the mages to save it. It is a choice. Also, there are 3 possible choices regarding Connor. You only need the mages for one of them.
@MikaIreth When you're at the circle tower during the final boss battle, use heals and health potions to keep the First Enchanter alive. You will have "sided with the mages" and they'll help you in this quest.
@CowHoofOnAHotPlate you are probably confusing this with something else. you may have killed the boy. you enter the fade on another occasion so you may be confusing the two.
I just started playing. Only just got up to the betrayal of Loghain. But isn't that kid the one that got killed in the intro of the human noble? And that would mean that this takes place in the Fade, so this does make a bit more sense now. However, the demons of desire are normally called a succubus in other media, and I like the way it sounds more anyways.
@chris20855 Yes,but the proper term is Desire demon.Although they do provide smex and take female form,they can also satisy a woman and give emotional satisfaction to their victim.This is seen in the Circle Tower when one entralls a templar by giving him what he wants,a family.

i remember a save when my char was having a romance. It went like this:
Morrigan: Youre so fine my darling
My character: IM ANGRY! IM GONNA CRUSH EVERYTHING! AAARGH
then my char was transforming into a big, naughty, masskilling, Ogre.
Shit happens i guess....

@CowHoofOnAHotPlate No mod here. Just choose Morrigan to enter the Fade and save Connor. I always get this if I let the mother alive and finish the Circle Tower's quest - Broken Circle, so I have the mages help to enter the Fade without the sacrifice. (But I see no reason why this wouldn't be the same if you let the mother sacrifice. Only if you kill Connor it wouldn't be possible, of course.)

i have passed the circle of magi quest and saved the tower but all the mages are dead so i couldn't perform the ritual and Conor or Isolde had to die! Is there a way to save the Circle and the mages to help me with Connor's abomination??

@MikaIreth If you want to load a save from before finishing the Circle Tower, yes. You don't have to kill the mages to save it. It is a choice. Also, there are 3 possible choices regarding Connor. You only need the mages for one of them.

@MikaIreth When you're at the circle tower during the final boss battle, use heals and health potions to keep the First Enchanter alive. You will have "sided with the mages" and they'll help you in this quest.

I just started playing. Only just got up to the betrayal of Loghain. But isn't that kid the one that got killed in the intro of the human noble? And that would mean that this takes place in the Fade, so this does make a bit more sense now. However, the demons of desire are normally called a succubus in other media, and I like the way it sounds more anyways.

@chris20855 Yes,but the proper term is Desire demon.Although they do provide smex and take female form,they can also satisy a woman and give emotional satisfaction to their victim.This is seen in the Circle Tower when one entralls a templar by giving him what he wants,a family.
