Cheesy. Never saw Dave with a guitar (which he isn't really playing) and this looks lip sync'd. Why couldn't they Love the band, love the song, not this video. They made 4 guys stay in one tiny little box who are used to running up and down the stage at REAL performances. Two thumbs down.

1st time i saw van halen was in cambrai ( north of france ) 1978 !!

last time was for the 2007 tour in LA .. and i was also lucky to be part of the private rehearsal at the forum in LA with " friends and family " before the world tour .. we were like 50 /60 people .... UNBELIEVABLE !!!LUCKY !!!!!!!!!!! now that im back in france i hope they'll be playing in paris , and hopefully TRIUMPH will opening the show ...

Watch the live Unchained video from Oakland in '81. No band on the planet can touch that performance. This is just them at their goofy best...Kinda like the Jump video. RELAX!

Actually, I think that was in Montreal ,Canada. The night before during the entire Toronto set Ed's rig kept breaking down. His system just wouldn't stay on. They made it through a couple songs alright, but around the 3rd time his amps went, Dave just tossed his mic onto the floor of the stage and walked off the set. So I think the reason might be that Dave is playing the guitar here in this vid is cause maybe he's taking a shot at Ed. Singers are not only crazy, they've got wicked tempers too.

In fact, this is not the only show where Dave "played" guitar on Unchained. They did that too in Spain.

They were just having fun doing these lip-synch songs, there's a better-known video (a Belgian TV show) where Dave pretends to play the intro of Hear About It Later along with Eddie on the Frankie, sorta 4-hands guitar, it's hilarious !

Wow - I'm a huge VH fan, especially when it comes to Dave's era, but that was just painful to watch. I'll always love them, but Dave with a prop guitar was just cringeworthy. Just goes to show that even our heroes have some moments that I'm sure they're not to proud of. Great find though. Kudos for posting it.
