  • hot as it gets

  • Jason drowned trying to scrub Betsy Palmers gigantic teeth =) jk...jk....

  • Betsy Palmer also did another movie for Paramount in 1957 called The Tin Star. It is on DVD as we speak and I have it in my DVD library. She played a lady named Nona Mayfield in that film. It is a pretty good film and it is well worth a look to see a pre Friday The 13th Betsy Palmer, though it is in black and white.

Give it a look. You might like it.

  • betsy palmer she on friday the 13th and murder she wrote

  • "Jason my dear, stop playing with that machete and come eat your dinner."

  • The camp counsellors weren't paying attention, THEY were doing dishes with Lux while that young boy drowned - in non-Lux treated water!! Look what you did to him..look what you did to those DISH-PAN HANDS!! AAAAHHHHH!!

  • His name was Jason, and today is his birthday..so I thought Lux would help scrub off all that blood!! Thats a goood boyy..goood Jason!!

  • I GOT SCARED WHILE WATCHING THIS COMMERCIAL; ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE STARTED WALKING TOWARDS THE CAMERA. LOL

  • So young, so pretty.....what kind of monster would allow them to do dirty dishes without Lux?

  • I think we should wait for Mr. Christie to do those dirty dishes.....

Come now dear, washing dishes will be easier for you than it was for Jason......

  • Oh my God. I haven't seen this since almost infinity ago. I had to be about 3-4. And I remember the house we lived in before April 1973, and I remember seeing a bottle of Lux in front of the shiny copperish tile. "Lux" had to be one of my very first words I read out loud. Also "Lilt". My Grandma used to buy "Lilt" and have a lady come over and do a permanent on her hair. And I remember it just smelled! Thanx for this extreme blast from the past.

  • Glad to see Betsy light the Jason dinner shrine in this ad.

  • Kill her mommy~~KILL HER!!!!!!

  • You're cleaning Jason's dinner dishes!!!

  • JASON, Dinner's ready!!! Ah, Mrs voorhees at home, years b4 she lost her marbles, LOL b funny if a mongoloid kid just walks past the screen XD

  • If i were to talk to her, she would say " come to mommy dear"

  • I expected to see Jason as a 5 year old sitting at that dinner table lol.

  • Oh, My God. Pamela Voorhees. I didn't know that Betsy Palmer did TV Commercials.

  • Actually, Betsy Palmer had quite a career as a game show panelist ("I've Got a Secret," "To Tell the Truth," "What's My Line?") before she did this Lux commercial. Could it be that liberating dishwashing liquid from the kitchen was what turned Betsy Palmer into Pamela Voorhees???

  • As 'Wookie' noted, Unilever {formerly Lever Brothers} still markets Lux Liquid and Lux Soap in foreign countries, including Asia and India. In the U.S., though, Lux is no longer available (there used to be Lux Flakes, for laundry purposes, but that was discontinued by the '70s).

  • "Wash the dishes with Lux, mommy! Wash the dishes with Lux! Don't let your hands get all rough and scaly!"

    "Don't worry, Jason. ..I won't!"

  • "Come, dear. It'll be easier for you to wash your dishes than it was for Jason"

  • Haha! I luv that!

  • "Look what you did to him. Look what you DID TO HIM!!!"

  • That was because the poor Jason drowned!

  • Even as a domestic housewife role she still has that creepy undercurrent to her!!!

  • YouTube videos are like a bridge. You build it and people will come across it.

  • Wash em, Mommy! ...don't let them pile up! "I won't Jason, I won't!

  • LOL!!!! Awesome comment! hAHAHAHAHA.

  • HYSTERICAL!!!! ROFL hahahahahahaha

  • @Radicalreels ahahahaahaha....that was great

  • Amazeing in friday 13th

  • I've had the good fortune to meet Betsy Palmer in person, and she's a VERY nice and friendly woman. She was primarily known for being a regular panelist on "I'VE GOT A SECRET" from 1958 through '67, in addition to her acting and commercial endorsements over the years. She also appeared in the short-lived "NUMBER 96" on NBC (1980-'81), after "Friday the 13th" was given wide release, and she's still amazed that more people know her as "Mrs. Voorhees" than anything she did before that...

  • Queen bee with Joan Crawford. I can't help mentioning that. That's the only film I can remember her in besides FT13th.

  • Wow...Mrs. Voorhees endorsing a dish soap.

  • They were doing dishes when that poor boy drowned!

  • HAHAHAHAHhahahahah - its late at night and that comment just cracked me right up...Look what you did to meeeee!

  • that was so funny.......and yes, i'm still laughing!

  • @Radicalreels- lmao

  • ha ha - hands, palmer, get it?

  • She is so beautiful, i loved her as Mrs Voorhees in Friday The 13th. No one can be as good as Betsy!!!

"KILL HER MOMMY.... KILL HER, DON'T LET HER GET AWAY!!!! I WON'T JASON, I WON'T!!!"

  • I think Jason was given Lux in his drink as a child, hence the killings into adulthood.

  • Lux! For dishes as clean as a vengful mothers conscience and glasses as clear as a crystal lake!
