Excuse my language, but this has just riduced me to tears. I've only ever known Tracy Chapmans really famous songs, and I just came aroudn this one in related videos.
I remeber this growing up, when my uncle Brad (RIP) used to dance around singing it.
I like this song. As an adult child of an alcholic this song relates to me pretty well. However not with the police because I don't have to do that. But my dad does yell and scream ALOT and its scary.
You can throw love songs(Bob dylan)and we say wow and we hear an african american woman who was considered for along time the mule the western society sing lyrics that shines knowledge in our ears that things are still not okay there is a darkness or shadow that comes with every light and that it is up to us as human beings to take a stand and start a revolution. That is when people start moving rather than just listening.
I take back "That lady talking ruined it." And I meant No, I didn't mean the way Tracy was singing. I was never talking about Tracy to begin with. Doesn't even matter now.
A very powerful song -

This song has never lost its chilling ability to remind me of the 13 year relationship that I barely got out of.

I think it's one of Tracy Chapman's best song, but I also adore Fast Car.
I enjoyed the show very much. She had a great performance that night.
