Why is everyone obsessed with the two kids being written off the show? You guys know they were just fictional characters, right? If anyone, I miss Boarder Hodges more than those two. In my opinion, Ruth Ann was a nothing character and Steven Floyd was crazy looking and no where near as entertaining as Chucky Lee. Heck, I miss Fred the dog more than them.

I think the writers failed to address the fact the viewers remember Stephen Floyd and Ruth Ann existed and gave no account of their whereabouts systematically trying to create a brand new series out of the Torkelsons...must be some kind of Bermuda Triangle hovering over Pyramid Corners OK sucking up stray children at random
may i suggest to the poster, that you should post actors names on the tags esp those who have made it big over the years such as brittany murphy (movie star), jason marsden ( tv star), and lee norris (one tree hill).... it will help increase the views & comments...
Nothing was ever said in any of the episodes. In episode 10 or 11, Millicent refers to Chuckie Lee as her only son. Not her younger son. Even if the show would have had Stephen Floyd and Ruth Ann as living with their dad, she'd have still called Chuckie Lee her younger son.
@godsfiddler I can understand why she got rid of Ruth Ann, that girl shaved Dorthy Jane's eyebrow off just for being too busy to reccommend her to play music. I think they got rid of the son because he might not have had enough country simplicity like Chuckie Lee & Mary-Sue which is a bunch of BS if you ask me.

why do people think that? There is never any mention of them and Millicent referred to Chuckie Lee as her "only son" in episode 11.
