  • Thank you so much for the great video .... :) I am interested in getting one for my next pet bird was recommended to get one by my former avain vet :)

  • thanks i found this to be very informative

I have 1 question though, what exactly are good fruits that a conure would enjoy?

i am going to like and faverate this video to look back at it for reference

  • great vid!

  • Hey....I'm going to get a green cheek conure and i can't wait...the thing is my mom and i have allergies. Do green cheeks give off dust or dander like other birds, cos i heard they don't!

  • Can we see a video tour of Cody or kody's cage? plz? BTW Great video learned a lot i'm thinking about getting a green cheek myself!

  • I have 2 questions. do you suggest buying a pair of them?( not breeding pair) For a beginner in bird ownership.

And, How well do they do when left alone, because I have normal high school hours and wondering if they will feel rejected.

  • is it possible to train these birds to do any talking?

  • Your the ugliest person I ever seen. Do you have any friends slut bag? You probably don't because no one likes you

  • @BLACKACEX108 Was that necessary to tell her that, at least she has the guts to come out on video to inform people on care for a green cheek conure! And i think she is very pretty! So if your gonna judge people on the way they look DON'T, NEVER EVER EVER EVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT"S COVER!

  • lots of information. great vid. thanks..

  • Very educational... I appreciate it! I have a question though... I cannot get my 5 month old green cheek to eat anything besides seed... not even fruit or veggies. How do I fix this?

  • SLOOT!

  • Where do you reccomend to get a conure from my petsmart sells them and they are hand fed and look very healthy should I get them from there?where did you get your conure?

  • @DaxonizAmazin I wouldn't recommend getting one from petsmart, honestly. Find a reputable breeder of them. The birds from Petsmart (as well as other chain stores) come from bird mills, and live in bad conditions. They are also very overpriced. I got my GCC from a breeder about an hour away from me. He cost $225 (where he would cost $400 at the petstore), I got a health guarantee, and it was nice to know exactly where he came from. She took amazing care of him, and he's been a wonderful pet! :)

  • @DaxonizAmazin I know you asked this along time ago...but I did get 2 of mine from Petsmart...and they have turned out to be so amazing, and are now on their 3rd clutch of babies..I wouldn't trade them for the world. Overpriced...yes..but pet store birds need good loving homes too...

  • @dgross563 Also, the Teske's pet store we have here gets theirs from local breeders and does not outrageously over price their birds..and some pet stores do treat their birds very well, I can vouch for the petsmart here, my daughter took care of the birds there so I know their routine..and Teske's also is pretty good, but i can't say the same for petco at all.

  • @dgross563 I am so tempted to get a bird from the pet store! They look so healthy and my petsmart loves their pets! Trust me though if there were smaller birds for adoption close to where I live I would defiantly get one! I do have one bird and I adore her! I got her from the breeder and I want to get one from her again.

  • @DaxonizAmazin That's great! I do have to say though, a pet store bird may take a little time to get lovey and snuggly ..but it can be done with persistence and patience, I can vouch for that. Green cheeks have so much personality! I'm sure whatever you decide..you will make any bird in need of a home very happy! :)

  • great video! I have been wanting a bird for a while now, and may be getting one in a month! but I don't know which kind of bird to get... I have been looking at cockatiels, Indian ringnecks, and green cheeks but they all seem like great pets! can you please help me choose the right bird? thanks and once again loved the vid!

  • Omg, great video. I'm so excited, I'm getting a pineapple conure this friday! How old is your bird? He's beautiful!!!

  • my teacher has one

  • UHM.

  • Great video! Thank you so much for the advice. I just got my first conure a week ago. She's a green cheek cinnamon. She's 7 years old. I got her from a breeder who was downsizing. And, guess what her name is? Her name is Cody, too!! I've subscribed to your videos. Looking forward to seeing more. You are very knowledgeable!

  • but i do have a question about the conure do they need a friend in the cage or can they be by themselves

  • @Ducko123456789 Thanks! :) And no, they don't need a friend in their cage. Actually, that usually results in them bonding strictly to each other and having no need for you, and they sometimes even go back to a wild state. So, if you want a pet green cheek to bond with, I would just have them alone and give them lots of attention. :)

  • you do a good job explaining the care of the green conure

  • thanks for the video, wich species of parrot would be the less noisy for a apartment from you own opinion ?

  • @tirvonum Green cheeks are known as good apartment birds, but in my experience they can get pretty loud (but they are still much quieter than other parrots). I have heard pionus parrots are pretty quiet and great for apartments as well (and a larger bird as well). Just do a little reasearch and I'm sure you'll find a good fit. :)

  • @tirvonum yeah, pionus parrots... all the way! They are very gentle quiet birds. I never have to cover up my pionus parrot or close her up in her cage, and she never bites. Green cheeks are cute and cuddly and worth it if you have the time to give them interaction, but as far as noise if that is your concern, get a pionus, but all birds need time and care and a little know how. Pionus are a little hard to find is one problem.

  • they eat poultry? like chicken? (I learned something new today...)

  • Cute!!! Love Cody! But uhhh.... You said the word ''um'' about 41 times... I counted...

  • @1234wallawalla I didn't notice it til you said something...now it's all I hear xD

  • @1234wallawalla lol, sorry about that. >< I tend to do that when I'm nervous. :P I've never done a youtube video before and I was a little nervous about getting everything right.

  • Uuuuummmmm......

    lol

How many hours of attention per day do they need?

  • @GeoSlash99 They need a few hours of attention a day. I would say at least 2-3 hours of out of cage/direct interation time a day, but their cage should always be in the room of the house with the most activity so they feel like park of the "flock". :)

  • @chinniebaby Thanks, this does help quite a bit.... ;)

  • @GeoSlash99 not that much, only if their cage is boring as fuck

  • I wish more young parrot owners were like you! Your GCC looks wonderful and happy ^_^ Great job!

  • @Melevarin1

Thank you for the compliment! :) He is very happy! :)

  • @mrcrzygy He's doing really well. :) Being a little loud at the moment, lol, but doing well.

They are really great little birds! Good luck if you get one! :)
