I admire all the rescuers who save lives in these types of situations. It must be so hard though to arrive and see a fatality but to save somebody must be a good feeling. Absolute respect and admiration. :)
@onsite1warehouse a tow truck, you have got to be retarded, what about the guy under the car? just gonna drag him along as you pull the car onto the bed of the tow truck?
@nitrophreak not stable or as percicely controled. a low pressure air bag is the way to go for this, i would rather be using a high pressure air bag becuase of room.
@DroppingTheRightTone a nascar type jack with a plate instead of wheels at the front to keep it from sinking in the asphalt and this guy woulda been at the hospital by the time they got the air bag set up! IMO!
Something happened on the 57 fwy today as a matter of fact and came upon this video. Something about an explosion between Chapman ave. and Imperial hwy. Wonder what happened....hmmmmm
He lived because it wasn't a 1986 lincoln towncar sitting on him.
Crazy video. My vote is he went flying out of the window. I sort of think if its bad enough that a seat belt fails.. your pretty much screwed anyways.
Might as well buckle yourself in just for chances sake. City i could maybe see no seat belt. But on the highway with no belt is just asking for trouble. even if you don't get thrown out i'm sure eating dash and windshield at 65+mph can't be good on your face.
It was an awesome video. But as a fellow firefighter there could of been a lot more tragedies that night. For one there was not a handline in sight, two the battery was obviously still connected on the car the man was under and three they don't have enough personnell to get to mutiple victims instead of going from one to the other?
There is a widely seen video here on YouTube where a police officer arrests a fire captain who wouldn't move the firetruck which was protecting the accident scene and one of the lanes of traffic. The officer was fired and fined $18,000 for that stunt.
Thats may dad

We have assited in these type of rescue operations before.

This is the type of accident were a tow truck should have been used. Lifted the car up and just moved it. 30 seconds and done.

@nitrophreak jacks are used for stabilization not lifting in the FD world. an air bag is the best way to get a controled lift.

@DroppingTheRightTone I understand but jack with the blocks of wood for safety it could have been done allot faster is all I'm saying.

Why is the guy UNDERNEATH the car? Why was he there in the first place? WEAR YOUR FUCKING SEATBELTS!
crossy70 3 years ago
shut up, even the seat belt won't always keep you inside the car.
Zanomatt 3 years ago
But most of the time it will.......
Just wear it.
