is there more to a seat in parliament than sitting on your ass!!!!Doesn't seem like it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love billy always will ,man has a vision of the way things should be!II'd vote for em!Funny thing everything he sang about back then is still happening now, and we let it happen!
Ron Paul would destroy everything you hold dear son. When your folks aint payin your bills I and others like me are. No man gets rich on his own. No man is a island. While the Fed is awful its awful because its privately owned. The Fed should be publicly owned as a public trust. Ron Paul would have the poor die as well as the old and the weak. You cant put everyone to work my friend.
As relevant today as it was when it was written, maybe even more so now. The Bard of Barking at his vitriolic, polemical best. Saw him three times in the mid 80s in my native North East and he was superb each time. BTW, the late lamented Ted Hawkins supported him the first time I saw him, and he was just awesome (and I mean that in the literal sense of the word) too.
@kalwinston You are absolutely right - I've seen some great gigs in my 57 years, but that was right up there with the best of them. Keep the faith, mate.
Prescient, brilliant, pick your superlative.BB makes the clear case that as our country(s) fall apart &, the middle class is led aound by the nose, all that is heard is the sound of ideolgies clashing. The Monied class keeps us entertained with bread and circus. Americans will elect a Hitler/Stalin-type strongman when they get scared enough. It would be nice to think they would stand up & shout, "the emperor has no clothes!", instead, but history shows otherwise. A day of reckoning shall come.

My dad played me this song when I was about thirteen, and I've been a fan ever since. My dad's a pretty rad dude, as is Billy Bragg himself.

America decided to give weapons to terrorists in Afgahnistahn during the USSR vs Afgahn conflict. Then they're shocked that 9-11 happened.
Wake up America. Bush is the real terrorist.

Always one of the best four from this album, along with Levi Stubbs' Tears, The Marriage, and Greetings to the New Brunette
