Im more amazed by the fact that Pollock did what he did WHEN he did it. Dripping paint over a canvas as a grown up man in the US 1950's - its rock n roll.
this fucking shit is a crime against humanity ... the first one looks like he cut a piece out of the floor of his paintroom. all the others like wallpaper samples at wall mart. for that kind of money you can feed a small country, education for the chilldren, water, food , medical supply for at least a year. fuck you
@106317you are right !! i don,t understand !!! art is about emotions , expression , craftsman ship , putting your heart in there.
I know bakers , mechanics, cooks, who are more artist than this !!! the only art is here that mr. pollock could let all you stupid asses believe ,that this is art ... he,s a brillant man , !! respect !!! but his painting sucks !!! and the good part is he knows that!! ha ha
@106317 ,, and i don,t think that your an ass ,, i see you like jeff buckley ,, than in your heart you know what art is ... jeff made art !! emotion ,, poetry ,,he can make me cry, laugh,or angry let me think !! that,s art !!!
Without a doubt one of the greatest paintings ever and yes, it's at the MET
You really can't appreciate it until you see the real thing. It's large for sure but it's as if it's got a massive charge of electricity running through it.
I love it when people say that their 5 year old could paint like that....they just don't get it !
I am going back to NYC soon for a holiday. One of the first things I will do is get back to the MET to see Autumn Rhythm again.

wow....I did something like this once after eating a huge spagetti dinner. I vomited it all over a white wall. It looked very similar to this. I wonder if anyone has ever tried swallowing paint and puking it on canvas
could you be more trite? i'm curiously certain that you've never stood in front of a pollock and attempted to feel all it has to give. among other things, this is what sets us apart from animals and you fail to acknowledge its transcendental worth.
colores complementarios y sus análogos en tonos grises. Primer plano obscuro. Plano del fondo claro. Concepto revolucionario de un paisaje. Hay luces y profundidad. Existe intención como decía pollock todo es premeditado y no casual.
This must be the hall of "Why people hate modern art"?

I love when ignorant peasants bleet and whine about the fact that Pollock is hard to understand. It always brightens up my day. lol

That first Rothko is amazing. I didn't know the Met had that kind of collection.

now that i think about it, it's at the Metropolitan Museum in New York and not the Museum of modern Art as i had it in the description.
