after that calf eaten by male lion that lioness adopt 5 more calf 1 dead by hunger and 3 ran away while she was sleepin and the last one that lioness leave to his mother.
What a smart lion! She realized that there's no meat on that little thing, so she's keeping it until it fattens up. One day, when her energy levels are low after a couple of unsuccessful and tiring hunts, she'll exercise her backup plan and invite her adopted oryx over for dinner. So smart!
That is just about the best bodyguard an animal or even human could have (ok maybe a male lion would have been better). I bet those Oryx calves have now evolved to chase down cheetahs hence why they are endangered.
@Kakashisd Read it right! That's a common misquoted sentence. "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest."
@OzzyFan87 Sometimes female mammals without cubs adopt cubs from other species. You can find some examples of these. I think that's the instinct of the necessity of being a mother that does not exist among reptiles and fish.
"lion lay down with a lamb" it's not a fucking lamb! Religious fools are always so quick to find anything that agrees with their teaching while ignoring anything that does not. Or are you saying "well he got the lion bit right..." so was WRONG about the lamb? Or if not wrong it's simply a saying not to be taken literally so this has no meaning what so ever. This is proof of instinct. Motherly instinct over that to kill... Not god.
1) I'm Christian and I feel your statement is too generalized and a bit offensive, mostly because you seem so abrasive about it.
2) There is no verse in the Bible that directly states "the lion shall lie down with the lamb." I'm not getting on you about this. I just find it amusing that several people keep repeating it thinking that it's a quote from the Bible. So next time you hear some "religious fool" repeating it like it's scripture, you can let them know it's not.

@stinkittodaman old I know, but the lioness isn't retarded or evil. Like you said, she has never had cubs, but her mother instinct has overidden her, so she adopted the calf.
u are a proper idiot! she is pronouncing her words properly and the only thing i can point out is her accent , which should not be a problem for someone with an ounce of a brain u red faced pig!
No you are ignorant and dumb and have no real exposure of the real world.. This is a local news story but then again you are from Sweden and aloof and think the world revolves around the west and everyone should speak with western accents.
@Seger213 You make me ashamed of being from Sweden. How the fuck can you not call that proper English? It's like ranting against Swedes who speak English with a Swedish accent. Dra ut huvudet ur röven och inse att inte allt handlar om USA och kulturen i väst.
This was a barren lioness - she needed a child. Therefore she adopted a baby so that the male would kill it and instill her to go into her natural cycle to breed. She managed to get the male to do this, but she sadly, she was sterile... It was not the 1st oryx, she had adopted many...
Contrary to humans, an animal is never cruel, it only acts by instinct. This lioness is unfertile and cannot have cubs or her own. @MultiMarieLisa I disagree. Developed mammals are very capable of cruelty. Aswell as goodness and kindness. They can have empathy towards other species, and sometimes they can feel hatred. The best examples for that are chimps and elephants.
IsaYah 11:6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
@omgtehcolors the calf is killed by a male lion, but the lioness adopts other 5 onyx calfs. 4 of them get killed by hunger and one of them finds his mother
to say that the lioness has a heart implies that you know nothing about biology.
there is always a scientific explanation to this. perhaps she recently lost her own young and is "confused". perhaps she is suffering from brain disease. there are explanations.
This oryx eventually was eaten. there is no Christian fundamentalist fanatic explanation for this. HIndus will claim they have the answer and so do other religions. This is pure science. Stop all you religious fanatics!!!!!
I am not religious, but being religious doesn't mean to be fanatic...it depends...I believe that there is a biological explanation: animals have a "sould". I mean, have feelings as we do...and can be confused as well sometimes...
Wow, some really cruel comments towards the lioness. She's an animal, it's not like she's intentionally trying to starve the calf. For some reason she thinks the baby gazelle is her "cub" so to speak. It's a fluke. She's not evil or retarded or whatever bad things people are saying, have some respect for the fact that an animal is an animal, for better or for worse.
the predator instinct of lions and tigers is too strong.. one day that lion is going to snap when extreme hunger comes and will not hesitate to eat that calf in a heart beat.
@tigerex777 people can also go crazy if they start starving.. haven't you seen the film with the crash on a snowy mountain where they started eating each other? or there was a man who hate this dog because he was starving in the wild.
@stinkittodaman Just before she adopted the calf she lost her pride along with her cubs. The event must have been so traumatic for her that she became so desperate in seeking companionship that she did this. She did go hungry because she didn't want to leave the calf, keep in mind that lions can go a long time without eating. Animals are not driven by just their instincts but by emotions too.
I saw a documentary on this. The lioness lost her entire pride along with her cubs which was so traumatic that she adopted this calf. He would've died anyway because he wasn't old enough to feed on grass and she wasn't able to nurse him. After that she adopted a baby zebra and wildebeest (I think). But I can't remember what happened to them.
@AVIATIO All Christians do that? Wow, that must be a lot of people, considering how many people are Christian. Isn't that like saying "I hate how Muslims all bomb buildings"?
@fauxpromises I can tell that reading comprehension is worth all but shit, as I just reread my post and never saw anywhere that I sad all Christians.
The point is moot any way, because to be either Christian or Muslim is to favor being an idiot.
@AVIATIO When you make a generalized statement, that tends to be the underlying meaning, so apparently your inferential skills are worth "all but shit." But then your point is moot anyway because you just made another generalized statement about religious people. Funny, since I've met dozens of non-religious people who are just as moronic as religious zealots. You must just have some personal beef with religion then, I suppose.
@fauxpromises Or perhaps your own inferential skills are worth shit. How you take a comment may be done differently from the next person in line, so I can care less how you took it, because I am the one who wrote the post in the first place. XD
And yes, I do have a beef with religion, and what I claimed about it was true. If you're offended by that.... I'm glad.
@AVIATIO I'm not offended, just think you're a bit of a moron. I don't quite understand why people think random places like youtube videos are a good place to spew hatred. Do you and Hitler like to have long conversations about eradicating religion from the world? You must be aware that most people who preach against religion are usually people who advocate genocide. If you're a big fan of Marx, then you must know that.
@fauxpromises FACEPALM You do know, fauxpromises--you fucking retard--that Adolf Hitler was a firm believer in religion, and actually admired Jesus for beginning his own cult? In fact, he fully wished eventually to reintroduce the old Germanic pagan gods into Germany.
Way to go, you've proven very clearly who the moron is here.... >_>
Don't even dare complaining about arguments here, bitch, because you're the one who started this one, not I.
@AVIATIO And of course you resort to childish, ignorant namecalling. Hitler didn't support religion, in fact neither did Marx or Stalin or any fucking dictator, because religion undermines tyranny. You must really have a few screws loose if you need to call me a bitch because you're all upset that you can't have your way and have everyone agree with you. In fact, your opinion hardly matters anyway, religion isn't gonna stop because you bitch about it on youtube videos.
1. Yes, Hitler did support religion. He even modeled his Nazi party after the Jesus and the Catholic Church. Don't believe me? Open up a goddamned book and read once in a while.
2. In what Marx or Stalin believed, I can care less.
3. I'm flaming you because frankly you deserve it.
4. Fuck off, I'm not wasting any more time responding to you. Have a good day.
@AVIATIO It's not really worth saying, because anybody who does "open up a goddamned book and read once in a while" will probably know that none of your comments are justified. Most of your points are just childish anyway, but the Third Reich was trying to get rid of the Judaic influence on Germany, and so actively steered the direction of the country away from Christianity as much as could be tolerated by the German people in such a short time.
I've just seen full version in animal planet.. it's a very very good documentary i've ever seen. At first I didn't believe it myself when I see a lion and a calf together. and I was thinking "when she's hungry, she'll eat the calf"...But the lion did not eat anything in over 2 weeks. she always stay beside the calf and follow after it. But in the end, a male lion came and took the calf. She was very very sad like a mother lost her child ! oh ...
Calm your ass. I wasn't being serious, and you don't have to take it to seriously. Humans eat meat, so are you also implying saying vegetarians are "defective"? There are other alternatives to food you know. Even if it did neither of them good, I still think it was in good nature to not kill the oryx. I hope she does pass on her genes :)
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.
if you look at 2:12 "oryx was eaten by hungary male lions few days later" only shows for 2 sec tho, so hard to read. so yeah some male lions came in and ate the calf while its new mom wasn't looking.
I saw this on animal planet last night. It was very touching and there were times when I didn't have dry eyes. The ending was very sad and I so wished that that baby calf had made it or could have survived off of its adopted mother.
Still, no one can take away those few days when the lioness defended the baby as if it were her own. Very moving.
Ok don't take this out of context, it's only saving it to eat it later.

Funny, since I've met dozens of non-religious people who are just as moronic as religious zealots. You must just have some personal beef with religion then, I suppose.
fauxpromises 1 year ago
@fauxpromises Or perhaps your own inferential skills are worth shit. How you take a comment may be done differently from the next person in line, so I can care less how you took it, because I am the one who wrote the post in the first place. XD
And yes, I do have a beef with religion, and what I claimed about it was true. If you're offended by that.... I'm glad.
AVIATIO 1 year ago
@AVIATIO I'm not offended, just think you're a bit of a moron. I don't quite understand why people think random places like youtube videos are a good place to spew hatred. Do you and Hitler like to have long conversations about eradicating religion from the world? You must be aware that most people who preach against religion are usually people who advocate genocide. If you're a big fan of Marx, then you must know that.
fauxpromises 1 year ago
@fauxpromises FACEPALM You do know, fauxpromises--you fucking retard--that Adolf Hitler was a firm believer in religion, and actually admired Jesus for beginning his own cult? In fact, he fully wished eventually to reintroduce the old Germanic pagan gods into Germany.
Way to go, you've proven very clearly who the moron is here.... >_>
Don't even dare complaining about arguments here, bitch, because you're the one who started this one, not I.
AVIATIO 1 year ago
@AVIATIO And of course you resort to childish, ignorant namecalling. Hitler didn't support religion, in fact neither did Marx or Stalin or any fucking dictator, because religion undermines tyranny. You must really have a few screws loose if you need to call me a bitch because you're all upset that you can't have your way and have everyone agree with you. In fact, your opinion hardly matters anyway, religion isn't gonna stop because you bitch about it on youtube videos.
fauxpromises 1 year ago
@fauxpromises
AVIATIO 1 year ago

I hope she does pass on her genes :)

if you look at 2:12 "oryx was eaten by hungary male lions few days later" only shows for 2 sec tho, so hard to read. so yeah some male lions came in and ate the calf while its new mom wasn't looking.

what ended up happening to the young calf?
carolepyo 2 years ago
I saw this on animal planet last night. It was very touching and there were times when I didn't have dry eyes. The ending was very sad and I so wished that that baby calf had made it or could have survived off of its adopted mother.
Still, no one can take away those few days when the lioness defended the baby as if it were her own. Very moving.
