America had no real influence in the end of WW1. When they got there the US army were still using old tactics to fight; above ground advances, on mass, slow moving forward and with full kit. As a result the Americans suffered over 6600 causalities during the first 4 hrs in a battle at Argonne. Even up to the end they did not change their tactics even when the British and French told them their tactics were wrong.
