His showboating shows just how confident he is, and he backs that up with some amazing skill. If he had failed, I would've faulted him for it, but he knows he will do well, so he has a right to give the crowd a bit of a show.
@luchador1764 he did well because he's a traceur, not because he's American. A Japanese traceur of equal skill and talent would have done just as well you racist prick.
Levi did great. Sure, he showboated, but he's talented and that's what he does. He's a freerunner. Some Japs may have taken offense to this, as they are a more humbled culture. Still, Nagano praised him for his speed and making the course his own. Besides, Karma kicked in and took him out of Stage 2. LOL. Karma sucks!
He may have been showing off, but I met him exactly a week ago, and he was honestly a really nice guy. He was very humble, I was just some dude coming up to him at a jam to say hi and he greeted me as if I were a friend.
I think he just likes to have fun, I can't say it bothers me that he did those flips. Although I was worried he was wasting time at the warped wall xD
i have no problem that he does a flip here and there cuz i can see it as a natural response to something like coming off of an elevated platform. the only one that i was "eh" on was the warped wall cuz that was just weird but other than that, do what you want.
omg why r u complaining that hes a showoff??seriously u dont even know who the guy is... he a pro free runner. that means that flips amd shit r wat he does, so on a "easy" course like that hes gonna have some fun
It's pretty crazy that he's not even that built! Yes he's strong, but he looks almost scrawny. Just goes to show that being in amazing physical shape doesn't mean you're strong looking.
he made that stage his own. it's a shame he hasn't had good luck the past two tournaments, but he'll get there. a guy with his talent has to get to the 4th stage at least once!
If I were capable of doing flips like that, I'd be doing them all the damn time. You only live once. Stop hating on the guy. I'd like to see you people who complain about him being a showoff even try to complete the course let alone do multiple flips during it and still have time to spare.
when i first saw him on ninja warrior, i thought he was pretty cool but i could have done without the flips... to me it seemed like a stupid thing to do. there are people who know how to do flips and have taken the course and he's the only one that does flips on his run.
@redhairmarimo absolutely, especially considering he was the ONLY person to make it into the third stage, and made it very far in the 3rd stage at that, on his FIRST EVER sasuske. great job!
yeah man. i really respect him, hes not a guy that says something like "I'm the best better then shitty David Belle" Also search for "The Beauty of Motion" It's Levi's Slo- mo freerunning video full of awesome flips and more!
You have to understand the mindset he is coming from. Those flips are what he does for a living. Just like second nature to him. He gave a show people would enjoy.
Yeah, i do understand... but 3 times was too much. I am a little jealous, i want to be on the show, and i have been trying to flip for a long time. still can't get it
The key is to jump HIGH not FORWARD. Once you can get enough high, you wanna spin your body around your head, not the other way around. I'd recommend training with a professional. And at all times, keep your head down.
Japanese people respected him in SASUKE 20 for his humbleness. He acts arrogant starting from the starting line. If you see, at the end, no one even chanted for his name.
Sure, he might be good and stuff, but his popularity in Japan went down according to my sources.
@supernovamaniac I don't believe thats true, in this season he was on another he was the only one to make it to stage 3 and eerybody there was rooting for him and giing him tips on the obstacles
@caponedruid Only one making it to stage 3? Unless you were watching American Ninja Warrior for SASUKE 23, you are talking about SASUKE 20, which was the tournament before this.
The same pattern existed in SASUKE 22. However in 23, he flipped after he cleared the course, which didn't tick off many people.
I don't want America to be seen as assholes in Japan, but that's what happened with this one.
The only flip that really irked me was the warped wall one. cuz that was just wasting time. Only time you should flip on a course is when u beat stage 1 and 2, thats really it.
@TalesIncs you realize that Levi is a professional FREERUNNER. Yes, there is the Traceur aspect but it's about his style. As a freerunner you express yourself through freedom of movement throughout your environment. How he sees the world as a freerunner is different from the perspective of a Traceur. And the Sasuke tournaments draw a whole variety of people of different lifestyles. Don't hate.
@spencershortyman how the fuck does that make sense you jealous fuck? go TRY freerunning maybe you'll understand instead of sitting on your ass watching this probably eating some fuckan cheeto's. i don't understand people that say in their head " I wish I can do that, lets say I don't and it stupid.."
Levi is without a doubt the best chance of an American winning Ninja Warrior, hell the past Ninja Challenge 'winners' never made it past the first stage, or even past the Jumping Spider if I remeber right

No, he's not. For the 21st Sasuke competition, this was the 3rd time G4 has hosted an American Ninja Challenge.
G4's American Ninja Challenge 4 was for Sasuke 22 which has already aired in Japan and will air on G4 in America on June 21st.

but my question was, is he the first TRACEUR OR FREERUNNER who made it to ninja warrior. ive seen the others but no one was a traceur/freerunner
