My favorite partnership in this PDD is Alessandra Ferri and Julio Bocca (not Angel Corella), whose performance is also available on youtube. Rojo is a good actress here but Ferri IS Juliet. There are still deliberate moments here between Rojo's phrasing, still she did a great job after all.
Alina may be a great dancer technically, but Tamara portrays a character better on stage. The role of Juliet involves a great deal of acting and Tamara plays it well. This is my favorite pas de deux and these two dance it exquisitely. If someone disagrees with the Royal Ballet then take it upon your egotistical self to change their mind.
I don't agree at all, Tamara is a good dancer but not at all such a goog Juliet, not enough innocent ang airy. ALINA IS THE JULIET at the Royal Ballet, I dont understand that they chhose tamara for the video, etc. Alina is in everything better than her.
I never get tired of watching this two performing this pdd. they have such a great chemistry on stage!!!! The way they look to each other, the way the lifts are performed! I'm not a big fan of Acosta but with Tamara he transforms for the better. She is great in this role, best Juliet ever. I love this pdd!!
The thing I really like about this Romeo is that he presents himself well to the audience and Juliet at the same time. He also has great technique so he is a wonderful, well rounded dancer!!

i TOTALLY AGREE!!! NO ONE CAN BEAT ALESSANDRA... NOT EVEN MARGOT FONTEYN WHO ORIGINATED IN THIS ROLE... ALESSANDRA AND CARLOS WOULD HAV MADE A VERY ROMANTIC PASSIONATE COUPLE OF LOVERS...
Margot Fonteyn did NOT create the role of Juliet. Lynn Seymour did. Fonteyn was never MacMillan's muse, it had always been Lynn Seymour, since he created the role of the Girl in his ballet The Burrow on her, until she retired. Please don't write in all capitals as it is very distracting and it seems like you're shouting at us. Personally I am a fan of the Rojo/Acosta partnership (and others, obviously). I personally don't believe Ferri/Acosta would be well suited, they don't dance the same way.
@bolshoiboy8 margot fonteyn did not originate this role. lynn seyomour did....fonteyn only danced it opening night because she was a first principal and that was the way that ballet companies worked then, and it also was a huge box office draw to have margot and rudoph dancing an opening night. apparently neither margot or rudolph were keen on dancing it on opening night, preferring to let lynn seymour and christopher gable dance...
So very beautiful.

Rojo has tremendous facial expressions, especially right after the kiss. I love how he picks her up too. The whole last minute was incredible.

I agree, that is possibly my favourite moment (I'm usually unable to pick favourites)! Just the way it all happens is amazing isn't it?
