i think in reciprocal engines at red limit cams move way too fast for the valve springs to catch up, and so the thing kind of walks itself out of tune and the valve heads kiss the piston. idk. not a mechanic. but i dont believe wankel engines Have any of that stuff to break at all. they might not really have a red limit other than dynamic compression effects that stake out the theoretical envelope. lol, trans sonic exhaust, it just stops breathing id guess. idk.

@RodanMz3 It may be the peak power, but just because it starts to decrease doesn't mean you are going to have more power once you shift, my thinking is keep going as far as you can until the point your next gear will land in is equal or greater power.

U shift at 8500rpm @ 231hp then your next gears rpm is gonna be around 6500rpm @ ~175hp. Shift at 9500rpm @ ~203hp and the next gear will land at 7500rpm @ ~203hp.

You wanna ride the peak power curve not always work your way up to the peak.
