Because if they got together before the show ends, it would ruin the sexy-hilarious moments between them. I usually laugh my ass of on them, so I really don't want those moments disappear. grrr, I hate how shows keep referring to Moonlighting. It's not how it used to be. I don't say they have to get together, but when you pair m/f leads together it's hard not to want them to. That's a sign the actors are doing it right, to show the chemistry, if it's forced, it makes for bad television and then obviously people wouldn't watch. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a great show if they didn't get together, it would just be nice to leave that door open. I think S/R do have a point as well.

I think it's extremely important here that Bruno didn't show a dislike to the idea nor did he deny it would ever happen, in fact he didn't speak much at all apart from saying " That'll be the end of the show then, you've got that to look forward too" I think this shows he knows it's what the fans want and he's THINKING about it.

Simon and Robin are allowed an opinion, but at the end of the day, if Bruno writes it, they have no choice.

They care about each other deeply, and to limit that caring to sex is unfair to them and the show. Also Jane is still very much in love with his wife, & still wears his wedding ring.

It's also not true that all fans want a J/L romance. Many don't want any romance, others want J or L w/other people.
