''Gelibolu, also known as Gallipoli (from Greek: Καλλίπολις, kallipolis, "beautiful city"), is the name of a town and a district in Çanakkale Province of the Marmara region, located in Eastern Thrace in the European part of Turkey'' Taken from Wikipedia
It's not a shame that you don't know anything, it's a shame you don't learn anything!
I am arabian , and I am proud that my great grandfather served in the Turkish army during WW1. I love you Turkey, Long Live Turkey from Jerusalem. The city which was always guarded by the Turks
Actually, the ANZAC forces attacked through Turkey to flank the Germans from the Eastern front. By doing so, they could break the stalemate that had spawned on the western front.
The Turks gave admirable defence, that the British foolishley were not expecting. In the end and long run, a great outcome for Turkey as born out of the situation came your freedom.
We've gone a long time without war in Europe and that we should be happy for.
Gallipoli was a farce. The situation was contrived by the British elite to destroy the Ottoman Khilafah. Turkey needed a new hero in the form of Kemal Attaturk to help them destroy the Islamic caliphate so that they could give Palestine (under Ottoman rule) to the Zionist Jews who had funded America's involvement in the war. The situation was created by Churchill to kill 000s of UK/NZ/AUS troops proving that Attaturk was a master general. Once he realised what the UK were up to it was too late.
@abuhamza1970 What do you mean destroy the Ottoman Khilafah? there was no need to do this, the sultan signed it over, but did so thinking that central anatolia would be left to the Turks. Ataturk thought differently, he knew they would also take all.. & it was actually about Iraqi oil.. since the 1800's, the turks refused to sign oil deals with other countries, thinking that in the future this black resource will provoke wars.. so Germans allied with Turks hoping for a deal..
