  • What is the full name of the software because there are 2 versions if this I think one is cheaper are they both the same ??

  • i love '' Block Buster'''

  • Magic bullet is super cool . . . But you can achieve these looks with Adobe Premiere Pro alone. You just have to learn the program well.

  • what lens?

  • Where do you get this ?? Especially the block buster one ?? Can anyone help

  • The Blockbuster effect one is cheesy as Camembert.

  • which version of magic Bullet has the ''Blockbuster'' effect.?.i've downloaded one and it doesn't..

  • i know this feeling its love

  • hey! please explain to me how did you make that nice effect in the crane scene? "warm and fuzzy" plus something like blur i don't know, looks cool kinda industrial melancholy. pls answer, thanks!

  • @MaxxEPM You've got a couple different options. In the preset, which you can create your own, it's called the "Diffusion" in the "Matte" functions. As long as you don' t pump up the "Size" control too much you should get a nice tight soft look. And when I say much I mean keep it around 3-12%. Another method is in the "Lens" function use the "Edge Softness" and take your inner dash ring/focus ring and pull out the focus that you desire. Everything on the outside of that ring SHALL BE BLURRED!

  • @87kroker Thank you!

  • somebody really liked effect Blockbuster xD

  • 1:46 and 2:01

  • blockbuster looks amazing

  • wow..love this..thanks for sharing

  • where do i find Blockbuster i cant find it in y magicbullet

  • where can i get it?

  • Hmmm You live in Dundee? Correct? :D

  • what camera did u use

  • dammit... you just cost me $400. Great video

  • what picture style did you shoot this at!?!?

  • Thanks for that examples :p I'm crazy about "No 85" and "Blockbuster" *-*

  • Blockbuster is my favorite.

  • @socdude515 Yeah when you apply a preset it just adds the various effects (3-way colour corrector, grain, contrast etc) with certain settings. You can change those settings, or remove any of those effects and add your own to the chain. The learning curve (for me anyway), has been to use the presets for a while, then start to tweak them once I know what I want more, then once I'm used to all the tools, build the looks from scratch.

  • @farellskater3000 You Already Know - "This Could Last Forever". Their albums are on amazon and itunes.

  • magic bullet looks is so great :D

  • Love the blockbuster!

  • Faved <3

  • these are soooo good.

  • Blockbuster should be used in CoD montages :D

  • 1:15 - more like "pr0n look"

  • Comment removed

  • good tutorial thanks

Where can I found this magic bullet looks and how much is it??

  • I love using Looks. I just got version 2 a few days ago and it has even more controls. The presets help you determine a starting point for the look you want and then you can tweak it in as many ways as you want to fit your own footage and then save that as a preset also.

For the Blockbuster look however I prefer to use MB Mojo because it renders faster and was specially made for that look. It also preserves the skin tones.

  • i take it u live in scottland :)

  • @DezinqCustomzz Yup, recognize a few places then?

  • how do i get Blockbuster ? I think its a realy cool effect

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • song plz

  • Buena demostración. Gracias.

  • how do you put video in magic bullet looks all i can do is pictures

  • Blockbuster and dream looks are awesome o.0

  • Would like to see one with Cinestyle utilized and CC'd w/ Davinci Resolve

  • If you get this plug-in... please don't use the presets :/ Do it from scratch please

  • @MartinCanMakeMovies Ideally yeah but if it's someone's first introduction to colour grading, the presets are the best place to start. Then tweaking those as you get more confident about what look you want and how to achieve it. Then eventually building your own. Nobody starts out with some in-built knowledge of how to do these things.

  • @graemeh2 No, seriously. You should just forget about the presets from the beginning. Nothing comes easy, but if you work hard enough you'll learn. If you REALLY want to learn something about grading/correcting color you should start from scratch. Not on top of some "magical preset". You have to CREATE the perfect setup for YOUR clip(s). Tweaking presets isn't going to help you, it's going to confuse you.

  • @graemeh2 jesus did

  • STEVEN JO SWAG !!!

  • @RCVIDEO2012 That doesn't make sense. This is a suite of tools for colour correcting with a high degree of customization. Just because it has pre-sets doesn't mean it doesn't offer a lot of in-depth control, too. What do you think the three way colour corrector, Lift-Gama-Gain, curves and other tools are for in Magic Bullet if not for colour correcting? That's like saying if you know how to shoot video, you don't need a camera.

  • @graemeh2 Your aesthetic sense is not good

  • @graemeh2 Do you know any other softwares like this.

  • @graemeh2 It's not even remotely close to saying "if you know how to shoot video, you don't need a camera". Not even in the same universe. It's more like saying that if you know how to ride a bike, you don't need a car.

  • But I have a feeling you have a stake in this software in some way. Because most people wouldn't even care what someone says in that vein. But maybe you're just one of those people who gets inexplicably offended about anything anyone says about any tiny detail of anything you've done. Tough shit. It's a cruel world, get over it.

  • @graemeh2 except that you use MB looks to select a preset look. If you were using software to color grade, you'd be looking at least at something like Colorista or Color.

Just because it offers 'in-depth control' doesn't mean it's aimed at the high end user meant for high end color correction. Why else would it have so many presets compared to any other color corrector that has none..?

  • @RCVIDEO2012 you're an idiot..

  • @RCVIDEO2012 wrong. Magic Bullet looks provides a series of tool based on advanced algorythms. I guess that in manual color correction you can't increase the detail with out increasing the contrast. But a tool in mb looks 2 is called "Pop" and is able to do so. So think before speaking and try to know why and what you are against something.

  • @dimac333 Well said!

  • @RCVIDEO2012 lol for everyone whos saying you're wrong you're actually spot on here.

Magic Bullet Looks is essentially a virtual colorist for those who don't know how to grade/can't afford a colorist.

  • @RCVIDEO2012 well if u are such a pro in CC, load up a video showing us how u correct your vids, so that it looks like blockbuster.

  • What is the name of song? Thanks.

  • @IPAVECpartizanski Music by You Already Know - "This Could Last Forever"

its in the description : /

    Just read Bro

  • Hey man tell me something please. I want to buy a camera or video camera to make music videos. I don't know So recommend me between Nikon d3100 camera and Sony HDR-XR160 High-Definition Handycam Camcorde.

  • Blockbuster is so sexy, i use it for photography CC's

  • Blockbuster?

  • Blockbuster is freaking sweet, though I do agree that it isn't subtle and could easily be overused. Makes we want to start writing movies just so I can film something cool happening.

  • I love MB LOOKS!

  • my magicbullets didnt have blockbuster

  • @TheDani199 It must have. Blockbuster is a preset available in Looks version 1 aswell as 2.

  • do you use a compression software like mb grinder

  • @WolfgangProductions1 No for this I just imported straight from the camera to Premiere Pro 1.5, which means it plays back slowly. However, now Premiere Pro CS5.5 has much much smoother playback of DSLR files, so I don't transcode at all anymore. I think MB Grinder is only for mac, I'm on PC.

  • @misterdomin To make the effect only apply to 2 seconds of a 10 second clip, you could use the slide/razor blade tool to cut that clip into two, then apply the Looks plug-in only to one part of it.

I've done that before, then faded between the two to fade the colour grading in.

  • @graemeh2 ok thx, now i must only find the slide/razor blade tool :DD

  • please make a tutorial for the blockbuster cc :D

  • Awesome video and awesome plugin - I use it in Sony Vegas.

  • /watch?v=czJjDWaowro feedback please?

  • sorry for my english.......

What´s the lens did you use ?

    thanks

  • @mecefb The very basic 18-55mm kit lens.

  • Blockbuster is the best :D

    Who agrees?

  • @TheCKES me, but in what video editor i can do it?

  • @iamsarp26 In Magic Bullet Looks.. It's compatible with a ton of different video editors like Premiere Pro and Pinnacle Studio :) Just google it!

  • wow a lot of these look like shit.

  • How do switch around the focus of the shot like how you did toward the middle ?

  • @TheeAndreyz DSLR cameras use manual focus for video mode so all he did was manually change focus by turning the focus ring on his lens :)

  • @iamKarlyville why is it when i do it its very uneffective

  • @TheeAndreyz You do realize it has to do with what lens you have also...I'm guessing he's using a prime lens like 50mm f1.4...the lower the aperture as in the smaller the number the more blur effect you get and more light it lets in

  • @iamKarlyville Thank you so much dude and its the higher actually thanks again i got it

  • @TheeAndreyz haha yeah i know the higher the more light but when i tell that to some ppl they get confused so i just say lower the aperture as in lower the number just to not confuse haha what lens you using anyway?

  • thanks for this video! now i want one :)

  • Hi did you edit this in Final Cut Pro? Please respond :)

    Thanks

  • @dancecraze5 No, Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 (an older version)

  • @graemeh2

    Oh right ok thanks

It's just that I have an 550D and I use Final Cut Pro 7

I dont know what to render the movie as when im done as every time I upload a movie iv'e done to YouTube the movie glitches and I don't know if its because of what im rendering it out as.

Check out my newest 'Canon 550D/T2i Test Footage' and you'll see what I mean. You can see little glitches in parts of the video.

    Thanks

  • @graemeh2 How can u adjust the color in Adobe Premiere? I'm new to it and I need ur help :( plz help me :(

  • @levananhtu With the Looks plug-in? Once it's installed it should appear under the "Video Effects" tab. Drag and drop it on to a video on the timeline, then under the Effects tab for that video, there should now be an entry for Looks, hit "Edit" on that. There'll be tutorials on their website and better tutorials on YouTube.

  • does this work with lightworks or is there a plugin that can make it work? Please respond!

  • @drcool41 Well the Magic Bullet Looks site says no. Supported host applications are Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Apple Motion.

  • blockbuster is sexy..

  • diggin no 85

  • i don't have blockbuster in my magic bullet looks, what should i do to get it?

  • I don't know why I don't have the blockbuster preset in my Magic Bullet looks.

  • blockbuster

  • Not to sound smartass, but it's "Curahee", not "Cuharee".

  • @MarcGF83 Yup.

  • im sorry, but what exactly is magic bullet looks? noobie here(sorry).

  • @aera137 It's a plug-in for Premiere Pro (or other editing programs) that lets you perform "colour grading". You'll get more info on colour grading on wikipedia, but basically it lets you alter/enhance colours to set the mood and make footage more visually appealing to your preferences.

  • @graemeh2 ah, i see.is it available for SONY VEGAS 10?

  • very nice job..!!Greetings from Greece!

  • Hi, Can you tell me where i can find the blockbuster preset? Can't find it in my magic bullet looks... :(

  • @johnnyrinsma It's under "Popular Film", should be one of the first few.

  • Thank you SOO MUCH for this video, I love it!!

  • awesome vid my friend. great color correction. look at my vid watch?v=INkTcOZpzTQ

  • That's it.. I'm trying it.

  • Nice comparison. I think blockbuster is too over the top and Michael bay looking personally but I can see it's usage. No85 did indeed look really good. :)

  • no 85 looks the best imo

  • wow, amazing! thanks for shared the video

  • don't forget : new noir :-)

  • @fatf yep!

  • thanks for this, I was looking into getting it and now i am for sure

  • What settings did you have your T2I on when you shot this footage?

  • @Plan9Pics It used the standard "super-flat" style picture profile (minimum sharpness, lowered contrast and saturation). Shot at 24fps with 1/50th second exposure, mostly at f3.5 and low ISOs.

  • "BW film stock grainy" Reminds me of SHINDLERS LIST. It looks awesome!

  • @fatf It looks a lot like the movie Pi - I use it in my Inverkip video.

  • @fatf it reminded me of Schindler's List too! :p

    awesome movie btw

  • How do you find the Canon 550D? I am thinking about purchasing one but would really like to hear an opinion from someone who shoots on it. Also, do you use the standard lens which it comes with? Or do you need to upgrade the lense to shoot decent footage?

  • @melside I've been very happy with it. Now I'm more into it I'd probably get the 5D next time, but when I got the 550 I didn't know yet if making videos was something I'd get into or not. In some situations the articulating screen that the 60d added would be useful, so consider that instead. Most of this was shot with the standard kit lens yes, but it's not a high quality lens at all either in optics or feel, but it is low cost so I got it for starting out with and it done its job.

  • Blockbuster Is the best one =D, use It for all my montages

  • I Really Like The Blockbuster Look always Use It <3

  • thanks! what are you using vegas?

  • @VandalScythe This was edited with Premiere Pro 1.5

  • beast presets

    /watch?v=e6l9cYQO0kw&feature=channel_video_title

  • Excellent video. I was searching for something like this where different MBL effects are compared to one another on the same shots. This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

  • what is this music i dont know it

    please reply :)

  • Nice comparison but those preset looks are kinda recognizable though but I must say they are great!

  • Where did you film these scenes some of the locations are beautiful

  • @janthony227 These are all shot in and around Glasgow, in the UK. Apart from one or two shots they're all from my other videos.

  • Nice!! for me Blockbuster rules ^^

  • What lense are you using here?

  • @kenaulie1 This is the 18-55mm f3.5 kit lens for the camera.

  • are you using a nd filter

  • ...love the looks but the most useful part of it all is your synopsis and poinions...helped me plenty!

  • Blockbuster on the second picture was awesome!!

  • Great video! It's good to see someone making comparison shots with and without the different looks.

May I ask how you went about editing this video? Did you transcode your footage, and if you did, in what way? I find the 550D H.264 files to be pretty hard to work with in AE.

    Cheers!

  • What is the song playing in the background of the video?

  • @TubbyPoutine That's a friend's band "You Already Know", the song "This Could Last Forever". Check out my other videos, I shot a music video for them.

  • I like the None - Straight camera look the best. Where can I get the software to do that?

  • @cobrachoppergirl Well if you send me the low low price of $89.95 I can send you the plug-in to do that. While stocks last.

  • this is great, it has made me want to buy mojo even more now, thanks for this upload, it was really inspirational!

  • Thanks for sharing this, I use to use Looks but I think Colorista is better now as you can dial in colours and contrast instantly to your liking, the presets in looks can be hard to customise to get the most out of each shot.

  • hi there... what picture style is the turkey shot on?

  • I think the best Looks can be made if you play around with the settings and effects a little bit... vignette, edge softness, spot exposure, grad exposure, curves, warm/cool... these are the ones I use the most in my current works... Yeah, it's a little bit time-consuming, but definately worths it! So I suggest to try to make custom effects (of course, the presets are extremely useful, they are really good starting points)..

    cheers! :)

  • @remmorts You're definitely right, the presets are perfect for a quick project, but something you can take more time over would benefit from a custom grade for sure.

  • I have vegas and my magic bullet only have like 5 presets how do i get more?

  • Thanks for the Demo!

It looks great and i think im gonna get the program after seeing this!

    "blockbuster" look awesome!

  • I swear, all the Bourne movies were shot in Block Buster.

  • @jackassassain same with that damn Twilight series.

  • @jackassassain Well having recently re-watched the Lord of the Rings films, I see that colour palette of Blockbuster everywhere in it (though a bit more subtle than Magic Bullet's preset is).

  • @graemeh2 how do you apply these? Is it just drag and drop?

  • @orika001 Yes, you drag and drop the Looks effect onto clips, then for each clip can open the looks browser which lets you apply presets or tweak and build your own. It's a fool-proof interface.

  • @graemeh2 gee, thanks!

  • what kind of software do you use to edit hd videos with. laptop, mac, pc?

  • @MrJan9k I use a desktop PC running Windows 7, and the editing software I use is Adobe Premiere Pro. I imagine that Final Cut Pro is mostly identical for the Mac though.

  • Very good demonstration! I agree with you, Blockbuster looks good, but it's nothing you want to use too much. Are there actually presets that result in a "greenish" look similiar to what you see in movies in dark interiors? How does Bistrocity look when used with such a scene?

  • @Skiller444 Well most of the presets make dark scenes darker overall, so it can be tricky to get good results with dark shots. One that works with dark scenes is Blue Bleach (which I used in the "Let's Fuck" music video on my channel) - from there it would be easy enough to tweak the blue down and the green up. After applying a preset you can tweak any of its values.
