  • terrifying , thanks god you have a firefighter helicopter , i hope everyone at there will be at safe place lol

  • This one came pretty close to us. I had water bombers flying 5 meters above my house - it was terrifying. Thanks for the footage!

  • my dad was fighting that fire, hes in belgrave fire brigade. didnt see him for 2 days.

  • That day was terrifying.

I was at school (I go to Upwey High) and I was in computers and the teachers gone "I thought you guys would like to know there is a fire on Nixon Road Upwey"

We all went outside and the smoke was shocking.

I rung mum cause she was at home (We live near glenfern road) and was shocked when she looked out the window.

When I went home I had to walk towards the fire.

    Well, we're all good now.

Our house was under ember attack at one point though.

    We almost left.

  • LEAVE!! you should have left you should not have gone home!!, i am a fire fighter in Boronia, the stuff ive seen this season... just leave you have not time, what if those embers started your house on fire? fire is very very very unpredictable, this fire burnt hard and fast fire fighters from the MFB and CFA attended in many many numbers we through everything we had at it, cause if it got away anymore it would of be mmm... who knows

  • We left at 5pm.....

  • I go to the skool in Belgrave Heights and i cant explain the Shock i got when i walked out and saw Black Smoke horrific, ow 5/5 on the vid

  • that was shit i couldnt even let my eyes focus coz it was changing from one thing 2 another !!

  • you have a problem we cant fix!

  • peter isn't captain anymore, but none the less he's still plays a major roll down there.

  • We know and you are right!

  • Great footage and photos. Good to see Upwey Fire Captain P.M. shots, he's a long-time community service person. Reports are that the fire was started by a slasher operating on a Total Fire Ban day.....The sky-crane shots are great, and because of it and the efforts of our local CFAs, not one house or person was lost in this one. Thanks for putting this together. Phew! Now we just have to get through Friday., and the rest of the season until it RAINS!
