I love basketball but to be honest its not a game for all men. Height is as important as jump shots in basketball, specially in the pro. Football or soccer as they call it in the land of the retarded is the only game in the world that is fair and square..no height advantage, no size advantage...u can't build height but u sure as hell can gain speed and strength, that is way football/soccer is the best sport in the world.

You're probably just entering puberty since you're just in the 8th grade. Since you're going through puberty your hormones are going crazy which means if you work out and lift weights you'll get bigger and stronger pretty damn fast.

Do some jumping exercises or squats and you'll be dunking in no time. Some people just have natural jumping ability. The best NBA dunkers like Lebron, Jr Smith, Kobe, Wade etc. all do leg exercises, you have to work for it.

@dariusrocksOK Your still young and your legs may not be strong enough. Im 22 now and only 5'10 and can dunk, but when i was in 8th grade i was prolly 5'7 and was no where near dunking. It seemed like every year tho i got closer and closer until the summer before my senior year of high school and thats when i 1st started to be able to dunk. Just give your body time to mature some more. Your definitely tall enough.Just keep trying or if you got a outdoor hoop lower it try that and slowly raise it
