  • How on earth do you adjust the positioning of the hand with nifscope?

  • @sharpclaymore

Right-click on the NiTriShape and choose Transform > Edit. This will open a menu which allows you to change the x,y,z position, rotation, and scale of that NiTriShape. For items with multiple NiTriShapes, you may have to move all the NiTrishapes individually or the NiNode they're attached to.

  • can this work the other way? like from morrowind to oblivion?

  • ok...i converted the weapon no problem but how in the world do i add them to morrowind useing TESC? i never really used it so idk how it works :/ ...could someone be kind and tell me how?

  • I was able to convert a weapon from an OB mod to MW without too much fuss, but I would love to learn how to convert armor. The problems that I have have to do with the fact that I have to adjust the armor to be compatible with MW/BB bodies. Also, MW has more armor slots than OB, making separating the armor essential. Because of this, you probably have to remap the textures, which is way beyond me. So, sad face =(.

  • wat if im doing close for htis and there is no wire frame thing

  • This is cool, however I'm trying to import a door to Morrowind from Oblivion. I don't think i've done it correctly though. It gives me the error of "filename must be shorter than 32 characters!"

  • Please tell me where to download Blender and Nif Importer/Exporter

  • hmm... I did this with a parchment and it looks good in Nifscope but not in the game and I cannot pick it up...?

  • Read from bottom comment up dood sorry about dat! I'll be back to spam over here later! jk

  • @Spiderwolfcakes Ok man I'm done took all day going in circles downloading in circles hey but somehow it worked finally blender 2.4.9, pyFFi 2.4.1win32exe, python 2.6.5 Blender Nif scripts 2.5.4 ... So I'm all set thnx I'll B bugging you perhaps if I run into any further trouble, later! ... Ps sorry I had to chill here but it helped for a pass time activity.

  • those textures your putting on the nif are dds? ...

  • Yes, they are .dds files.

  • @DOUBLEBREWSKI If I download PYFFI, and the nif scripts plugin is it anything like OBSE where I gotta copy and paste it somewhere? or does it automatically work with or show up in... Blender? Because I downloaded 3.2 Python and... to open this file windows needs to know what program to use... and Pyffi 2.1.4 says a version of Python blah blah blah was not found

  • @Spiderwolfcakes ... 1 sec... anyway probably wrong version of that, I'm gonna go try another but do I gotta drop folders in the blender location? thnx! I'll be back if I figure it or run into more problems tho so I aint gotta trouble you much. Later! Thanks for your simple answer about the dds by the way some people like to beat around the bulberry bush ttyl brb ( shoosh! ) right? It's no wonder I never get to play Oblivion xD brb

  • @DOUBLEBREWSKI Ok DB, I got it looking ok, thanks 4 this tut, I guess I gotta add collision tho for some reason, but I'm good I should be able to figure that out elsewhere, Peace! I'll be back here later! jk xD

  • Question , What if has an under score g?

  • A texture file ending with _g is a Glow map. These are used to give light and glow effects to the mesh.

  • Can this be used to convert clothing and hair and stuff back too?

  • Nope. This only works with static, non-animated meshes.

  • @DOUBLEBREWSKI Then again Hair is not animated.

    Clothing is, though.

    I think

  • Hair may work using this method. Most helmets work because they are not attached to the animated skeleton like clothing or armor.

However, I don't think I've ever tried hair.

  • I cant get the nif script plugin to work please help

  • Make sure you have Python and PyFFI (Python File Format Interface) installed first, as well as the latest version of Blender.

If that still doesn't fix it, reply with the exact error messages you're receiving and I will try to help troubleshoot. Good luck.

  • I can't get the NIF file type to show up in 'Import'. Do I have to install something else or what?

  • To do this trick with Blender you need to have Python, the (PyFFI) Python File Format Interface, and the Blender Nif Scripts Plugin.

  • This is really helpful! I may not be able to make my own items, but now I can get stuff from Oblivion!

    I'm going to subscribe, :D

  • can i do this wtih milkshape

  • I don't know. I've never used that program. However, I believe that any program capable of importing/exporting Nif format files should be able to do it.

  • thank you so fucking much!

  • okay...

    When i export it says

"Create a UV map for every texture and run again"

    whats going on there?

  • good good... but now i need to know... how the heck do i get them to the construction set? i mean, i got the textures eh... retextured, i smoothed out all the meshes, but now i can't seem to get it onto the game?

  • Well, that's a different tutorial.

Basically, just open the Construction Set, (load Tribunal & Bloodmoon if you have them) in the Object Window, click the Weapons Tab. Right-Click one of the weapons and choose "New" then click the "Add Art File" button to add the new mesh. Set it's stats the way you want them and Save. Then, save your new esp.

  • yeah... but i'm trying to get an armor into the game... every time i load it, it either comes up blank, or it shows nothing, could you please help? sorry...

  • Animated meshes (including armors) Do NOT work!

This technique only works for static, non-animated meshes like swords or shields.

  • oh... ok. thanks then. so how would i get it on then? just asking.. :/

  • I don't know. I haven't figured it out yet. Once the armor mesh has been downgraded to Morrowind's format I assume you would rig it the same as any new Better Bodies clothing mesh.

  • oh, ok. i'll try to help you find a way, i guess, haha

  • If the mesh has any particle effects this will NOT work.

  • will this work on oblivion gates?

  • ive pretty much converted all of the building in oblivion to morrowind :)

  • hey mine wont import the nif thing it just gives me error messages....... help?

  • Sounds like you don't have the Blender Nif Scripts plug-in installed.

  • "can't find the file of import thing"

Do you mean File (menu at the top left of Blender) and Import (Import is an option under the File menu)

  • Comment removed

  • Google is your friend. Just google Nifskope

  • Yeah ok. well i went there and i dont know what to download! :(

  • This is great and all but theres a problem.

I dont have a freakin clue were to find nifskope

  • but can reverse that

  • I knew how to reformat the meshes but I had no idea what to do about remapping the textures. Thank you both so much!
