@AAMLfan You could cut out small pieces of the various shades and wrap them around a wooden bead. Blend the edges so it appears solid. You could use just a wood ball with no hole as well.

heres the steps to doing it the easiest way

Step 1 take 2 clay colors and make them into balls

Step 2 flatten the balls into 2 circles.

Step 3 cut them in half try to make it perfect in half

Step 4 take 1 half of your colors and for example half purple and half white so that u have a circle thats half of each colors..

Step 5 roll it out a bunch of times till it blends..but make sure its color 1 to color 1 and color 2 to color 2 make sure u dont go color 1 to color 2 or its ruined!

@RockstarIcarly Your clay may be too old. Or it may have been heated up slightly at some point... there is no way to make it soft after that. Save this difficult clay for spare projects and start with fresh clay.

you can do it with a rolling pin too =) might take just a wee bit longer but not that bad. =D there is a video somewhere on youtube with someone using a rolling pin to do this. no pasta machine. =)

love it! =) thanks a lot! that is the same problem i get too though..it gets harder and harder to fold and then it just gets too wide to be put through the pasta machine :-P oh well! I have read that it happens all the time but I love that rose! Can't wait to try this!
