it's a great upbeating song that literally illustrates the chinese peoples struggle for the pass 400 hundred years since the Manchauians took over in 1644 A.D. up to the Jap invasion of WW2. it is totally understandable that they would want it to be prefect on the biggest boardcast of all times watched by billions of people around the world. i mean really, if you think about it, it was a spectacle unliked anything we've seen in olypics history that only the chinese can managed to do thus far.

Not true. The KMT used traditional tactics and their forces annihilated. The Communist forces waged a guerrilla war that would probably have worked eventually, like what happened in Vietnam a few decades later. Japan had the best traditional military in all of Asia, the KMT didn't stand a chance. Their strategy totally sucked. They couldn't even defeat the communist rebels when the war was over too... The Soviet Union that liberated almost everyone in the Soviet invasion of Manchuria.

I think this a really wonderful thing. Displaying both of these girls to the world, letting them both be the stars and giving them something to be proud of was a very kind act by the People's Republic. They were both happy to serve their nation in this way, so why should the West judge them?

i like this tone version in that it sounds more hopeful than energetic, most other versions sounds filled with strength and ambitous which is great but this "tone" is better.

I don't have a problem with the fact that this girl was lip-sync singing. I think it was an aesthetic choice on the part of the Chinese, and apparently the singer was happy to serve her country without being in the spotlight. That's worthy of admiration.

@rugxovo No offense but it seems you know nothing of China. They don't give you a choice. You do what they say or else. In fact, they go to schools every year and test girls for gymnastics. If they are picked as showing natural talent they are, by force if needed, taken from their parents and home to train hopefully so they can eventually join the Olympic team. If they don't want to that's just too damn bad. And that one child policy? Crap. Study up on China. You'll see.

Many of our country fellows sacrificed themselves and some even gave up their life for us to build today China. We should learn how to appreciate people efforts more rather than picking on every single imperfection. I strongly believe China will get stronger and brings peace and justice to the world.
