I don't think I've ever seen any other 21st century RB with as much success running up the middle. Bernard wasn't the fastest. But he was a motherfucking warrior.
Yeah. Muthafuckas! He's playin with winnipeg now. Who gives a shit about his 40 time. All that matters is he is a good runningback in a professional league now
The difference in a 4.8 and a 4.4 40 is the start. Alot of guys specialty train for the combine. It has nothing to do with football skills. The combine is important to borderline players. I hate the combine. It's turned into a reality show.
it doesnt matter how fast he was timed at the combine. he put toghether a somereally good rushing totals. i hate people who thinks someone sucks because they have a slow 40, those people don know shit about football
Yah, since the 40 determines how well you catch the ball, avoid tackles, and knock guys on their ass, you're absolutely right. Thank God you're a scout.
He was on the same beaver team as steven jackson but its a good pickup for the rams even though i am a hawk fan i hope suceeds for the rams loved him in college
looks like a work horse type. doesn't bounce around too much and will initiate contact and keep feet moving. Dunno if he'll really be "elite" but he'll more than likely be a good reliable back that'll get you the yards you need but im not sure about much more than that.
Bernard was the man for OSU for three solid years. He was "the" RB, unlike other schools that have multiple RBs to share the duties. This guy is tough. Bernard is a producer. Bernard would be a great backup to LT, as a replacement for Turner, IMO.
He is rated as the 30th best running back in the draft this year, he will be lucky to even get drafted and even luckier to make an NFL opening day roster
All he did when the ball was in his hands was follow his blockers, get tackled, and fumble. Occasionally he made a nice move or broke a tackle, but overall he was mediocre at best.
o my god, jonathon stewert is soooo much better, sooo much, hes goin pro as a junior this year, oregon state has no future, they r goin to be horrible
To those saying average: The average back gets stuffed in about 35% of their runs... it's rare to catch Yvensen gettin' stuck behind the line. This guy isn't the fastest man out there, he won't crack many 80 yard TDs, but he's one of the most consistent backs in the Pac-10 over the last couple years.
underrated, i dont think half the backs n college football have taken the hints like Mr. Bernard have taken w/ the injury he bare w/in him and still gain extra yards w/ a sorry QB and an average OL! So, u underrated the wrong back!
good runner these are just productive runs here which is great to have out of a college back, what i like the most is his catching ability. great hands for a back.
man he is slow. Good thing he has great vision, strength, and versatility!

ihatehomos 3 years ago
thats not fast by college football standard, and poor for a running back playin division 1
carmas23 3 years ago
you apparently didn't get my sarcasm
he ran a 4.8
that's slow as hell
4.8 is a mediocre Varsity Runningback
Bernard kinda sucks

He looks productive and hopefully can make the team. maybe the next MJD?
djairrick 3 years ago
He's like a lil & young Steven Jackson, they both come from Oregon State so maybe this guy idolizes Jackson. He'll get to meet him as a RAM!

Too small, too slow, UNDRAFTED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does size ever matter. Seriously. As long as u can run good like he did it doesn't matter. Look at Maurice Jones Drew. 5 foot 6 and he's hella good.

40s don't mean anything. its what you do with the ball when its in your hands.

Aosis 94 well said MAN I TRY TO GET THIS POINT ACROSS AL THE TIME
One thing i notcied is that many people that hype 40 have very little to none football experience
futurehalloffamer 3 years ago
he will be a great pickup in the 7th round or undrafted free agents he improved his 40 at OSU pro day to 4.6

Attention: At best he will be a practice squad player for a few years. He is rated as the 30th best draft prospect. You Oregonians are myopic.
nancinmofo 3 years ago
this guy sucks, he ran a 4.83 in the combine, i run a faster 40 then him, he wont get draft....
Look at 2:12, a DT caught up with him and tackled him
ekheyman 3 years ago
the rams got him as an undrafted free agant
