  • oh that's a fun song ... haven't heard that 1 before !

  • Bring back the 90's

  • love it Mark.

  • wooaah! Is that a young Pat Hayze on bass there?

  • @MeatCloud no but i think he's in the background at the bar at 0:18

  • Probably one of the best Jangle Pop songs in history.

  • remember when Australia still had a music industry.

  • a fine fine song and dang catchy...aaah the Palace

  • One of the best gigs I went to back then was The Hummingbirds playing with Ratcat at Maxs @ Petersham Inn, I still have the 7'single they gave to everyone, They did each others songs for one set, it was great. My brother J, was good friends with them all.

  • Great upload thanks. Loved seeing the band live. How about a reunion?

  • Great upload thanks. Loved seeing the band live.

  • Thank you for uploading MT... we loved you guys.

  • The pub was the Palace hotel, Darlinghurst, we played our first couple of shows there - I'm guessing 1986!

  • Which pub was it again?

  • Excellent band, many great tunes. I remember seeing them live at some small pub in Balmain, Sydney (The Rose, Shamrock and Thistle?? maybe).... great memories, I still play the LoveBuzz album from time to time.

  • Back when music was still awesome *sigh*

  • As a kid, I always listened to the standard Top 40 fare... this song (and band) was the first time I ever properly started to listen to "alternative" music. So I will always have a soft spot for Alimony, and The Hummingbirds.

Cheers to the bleepbleepster for putting it up as well!

  • has anyone got a link to the tune that has: 'if you leave, leave it all behind now.' as part of the lyrics?

    thanks

  • they never made a clip/single for it... it's available on the greatest hits CD, which is the only album still available. if you order it in, it cost me ten dollars. wish they'd release their albums though...

  • Tee Hee, I just realised I still have my kint copy of this on vinyl single!!!! never throw out a classic...

  • Ive got a picture disc of this in a cupboard at my parents house. I really should clean up all my shit from there and bring home all the lost gems from my past. And I agree with you, never throw out any old vinyl.

  • Waaaahaaaa, I want to be 18 again....Simon used to work in record shop near me and I remember when they were asking for inspiration for their first lp name..... they came up with LoveBuzz

  • Mark Temple.... the best drummer for the hummingbirds part of the original lineup which was the best lineup.

  • Please don't make me pay...

  • I miss this band so much.

  • brilliant..........totally underrated...i loved them

  • It's their debut single from 1987, yes it was before Robyn joined.

I loved this band so much...

  • Glad to have this on here, but poor sound quality--and it's not the album version. So where is this from?

  • I think the version on Love Buzz is a re-recorded version. Not sure, but this looks like the original single from 1987 (Robyn St. Clare is not in the vid - is it from before she joined?)

  • This is the original single version. You can find it on their greatest hits album, which is the only cd available on itunes. *sigh*

  • This song was the qunitessential and excellent sound of a very very talented band they should have been around for a lot longer and I'm still hoping they will reform for one last tour, please

  • An inspiration to many many bands in Oz. Thanks.
