One of the best gigs I went to back then was The Hummingbirds playing with Ratcat at Maxs @ Petersham Inn, I still have the 7'single they gave to everyone, They did each others songs for one set, it was great. My brother J, was good friends with them all.
Excellent band, many great tunes. I remember seeing them live at some small pub in Balmain, Sydney (The Rose, Shamrock and Thistle?? maybe).... great memories, I still play the LoveBuzz album from time to time.
As a kid, I always listened to the standard Top 40 fare... this song (and band) was the first time I ever properly started to listen to "alternative" music. So I will always have a soft spot for Alimony, and The Hummingbirds.
Cheers to the bleepbleepster for putting it up as well!
they never made a clip/single for it... it's available on the greatest hits CD, which is the only album still available. if you order it in, it cost me ten dollars. wish they'd release their albums though...
Ive got a picture disc of this in a cupboard at my parents house. I really should clean up all my shit from there and bring home all the lost gems from my past. And I agree with you, never throw out any old vinyl.
Waaaahaaaa, I want to be 18 again....Simon used to work in record shop near me and I remember when they were asking for inspiration for their first lp name..... they came up with LoveBuzz
I think the version on Love Buzz is a re-recorded version. Not sure, but this looks like the original single from 1987 (Robyn St. Clare is not in the vid - is it from before she joined?)
This song was the qunitessential and excellent sound of a very very talented band they should have been around for a lot longer and I'm still hoping they will reform for one last tour, please
oh that's a fun song ... haven't heard that 1 before !

The pub was the Palace hotel, Darlinghurst, we played our first couple of shows there - I'm guessing 1986!

It's their debut single from 1987, yes it was before Robyn joined.
I loved this band so much...

Glad to have this on here, but poor sound quality--and it's not the album version. So where is this from?
