Thanks for the info. I haven't thought about the Advil risk before. If you don't mind me asking did you have an ablation done? I am on a waiting list for one. Just curious.
@jbjfan3262 Hi there...all docs have different rules and i know a lot of people who do drink sugar free. i am not suppose to drink sugar either so that leaves me decaf tea and water. i am a water lover so it is not too hard. once in a while i do have a sugar free koolaid drink. i just don't make a habit of it. hope you're doing well!
This video is GREAT. I'm a BIG TIME straw user lol. No one in my home drinks without a straw. Every thing you mentioned will help me . I'm not yet banded . I should be banded the 2nd week of November .
thanks for saving me time and potential pain and stress of these "donts" .....i asked the rep-receptionist about the don'ts and she acted like why would you ask that, the doctor will go over all that with you. the truth is most doctors are hit and run artist, they will give you only so much time and they are gone.....no way are you going to get a complete list of the true things to avoid and negatives of lapband surgery. you have to research, go on to you tube and find people like you....
omg.....Look @ u -You look Great..! Great Video-Caffine is my BFF-I no that Gastric bypass arent supposed to have it the 1st year.
Ok as you read the No crystal light rule and talk about the white ring thingy around the pitcher-Im chugging some crystal light-and It doesnt taste that good now ...LOL
This was great refresher info, April. I was still occasionally taking Pamprin when the pain got too great..but that is tin the ibuprofen family...going to look at what else I can do :(
As you know..I haven't eliminated alcohol...but I have reduced indulgence by at least 80%. I am a big believer in the 80% rule. We can't be perfect..but we can get it right at least 80% of the time :)
Good information I chew Gum sugarfree, but I do not swallow. Gum is an excellent solution for me if I crave sweets, it takes care of the craving for me Take care.
My doctor allows occasional Advil usage. I always drink a full glass of water with it to make sure it goes down through the pouch. What would you use otherwise? Tylenol does nothing for me. Great information. Thanks.
lady, you are always serving up such good conversation! love it and thank you! i still believe that all of our doctor's need to hook up and get on the same page.
My doctor (also a lapbander) does not agree with the following: no caffeine, no mints, no gum, no alcohol (just limit - unless beer), no artificial sweetened beverages.
he does agree with the following: no carbonation including beer, no advil or ibuprofren, no straws.
funny thing - as i am typing this, you were typing me. :)
Thanks for the info, hard to follow ALL those rules. I tend to have a cocktail 1-2 times a month these days, but I love my Lipton diet green tea--can't give it up. Before surgery I would drink a liter of diet rootbeer a day, so I think it's an improvement.
What if you continue drinking soda and alcohol? I love me a few budweisers after work.
