  • Contrast is much better on the prs-505 than on the prs-700.

    Another fail from Sony.

  • Poor sony. That shit looks cheap and out dated. Come on sony give me somthing better then the ipad. Make your reader on 3d or somthing.

  • @masterlee123 its out dated bc it was the new thing two years ago...

  • I think that I'll just still stickin' to the foxit eslick.. the best ereader by far!

  • As far as I can see, the 505 has much better contrast.

  • seems to be thicker as the 505... i dont need build in light, an ordinary book even doesnt have it, and i think it will have less battery time... touchscreens are a nice idea, but i dont like to read through my own fingerprints... i prefer the 505...

  • it does not have a built in backlight, it has duel side screen lighting.

  • What about the differences in screen? The 505 is better, don't you think? But no touchscreen... Waiting for the PRS 800something?

  • I recently went to a sony style store to look at the 700 next to the 505 and yes the screen on the 505 is much better IMO. (I have the 505). The 700 has a horrible glare on the screen which makes it difficult if not distracting to use. Nice to have a built in light, touch screen cool, but those do not make much difference if you have to battle a glare constantly.

  • Exactly. So Sony doesn't make a lot of progress. One step for Sony is a stumble for mankind.

  • funny. maybe the next one will be better. maybe...

  • @Fer860 Few people seem to object to the fact that the touch technology appears to require a more reflective screen - and so becomes illegible in bright light - as when outside in the sun!! Sony's adverts regarding reading in sunlight do not however bother to differentiate - claim 505 same as 700 - which it just isn't.

  • you da man!

  • Thank you. Nice and quick!

  • nice device

im looking forward to buy one of those readers

  • Nice review man!
