Pretty cool! However I must say that in the NES version fading the environment into a limbo, when the boss came out, used to give it a unique ominous feel.

This remake is on Sega Classics Collection, which is pretty cheap. They also did Fantasy Zone Complete Collection, which has all the games plus a remake of Fantasy Zone II that's even better than this one. Alas, that release is Japan-only.
