I like her music, she captured almost 5,000 years of European history in one album. I do hope someday people will embrace the whole of history without trying to leave out parts or diminish parts of it. I refer to people's tendency to view the early Christian era as a negative when it was actually deeply positive for Europe and it provided a better template on which Europe has built itself upon.
Oh and btw Anatolia Galatia was invaded by foreign third world Turkish hoards whom later went on to enslave the Greeks and still own much of their land to this day.
Its funny when anti-white bleeding liberals and jewish bolsheviks cry over it when infact they where the original invaders and still are.
Well, tremendous, how come I never came across her before. Reminds me a bit of Afro Celtic Sound System - now that could be an interesting collaboration.
Now theirs a contradiction in terms if I've ever heard one.
Celts migrated as far as Galatia (now called Anatolia) and there music consisted of more then just drums and bagpipes, hence when all these cultural marxists tried to label her music "New Age" she swiftly asked to be taken off the #1 charts, why? because its her native Scots-Irish celtic music, its not "New age" bullshit, its ancient and sacred, ethnically, flesh and blood, and culturally/nationaly.
, meaning the song would be a mourning of the loss. But i dont know if that is the case or if its some other era. I love the song, so romantic and passionate, yet sad. very characteristic of Mckennit, but she often bases her songs on classic poems or legends or event
do you know what the story behind this song is? ive been doing a little research (very little mind you) and the best event i could associate it with is the Russian Empire's conquering of the Caucasus region (which is a valley between to mountain chains that run from the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, consisting today of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Gerogia) in 1828
@merekstorrgaard In the insert for her CD "The Book of Secrets", she said that this song is based on the search for truth, harmony in its deepest form. Her inspiration was partly Sufi philosophy and partly stories she had heard about alchemists that searched for the unity between matter and energy.

The lyrics of this song make me think of The Wild Hunt.
