The person you were battling didn't even remember the type advantages. He could have done serious damage with Gardevoir's Focus Blast against his Hydreigon, Camerupt and Empoleon or Psychic against Infernape and Venasaur. But I get it if its all about the strategy and STAB damage.

he couldnt because he was choiced, which means he cant switch moves until he switches out and in again. I would not leave one of these pokes in if he could switch moves
