Hello there,your cockatiel is very nice and I also have 1 which looks similar to yours.I have 1 question about cockatiels. How much they have to be old to learn to talk?I bought my cockatiel before 2 months and 10 days,and i bought him from breeder when he was about 3 or 3,5 months old.Very nice bird and good pet,knows about 6-7 different melodies or 8 i can't remember. Every day i am talking to him,and still nothing.I repeat his name(Lucky) every day about 30-40 times+ my family.Somebody answer

That's really, really good for a cockatiel.

My bird can say "Ollie the Bird" And thats about the the limit of his vocabulary. My other cockatiel just hisses and makes a noise like a car alarm.

But i got tiels myself. I can easily jugde the genders of my greys. But i still dont know the gender of my lutino. Cause you cant tell by the look on a lutinos face. And its feathers are yellow, but doesnt have yellow and white rings. So its hard to tell..

Actually, greys are the only kind of tiels where you can judge the gender. Lutinos, Albinos and other mutations can only be judged the right way by DNA test

actually with grey cockatiels you can tell the diffrence between genders by the color of their head, white is male, grey is female.

This is a male and you can tell with most tiels except for Lutinos until they are in breeding condition. But just looking at that bird i can tell.

You cant tell just by looking at a cockatiel if its a male or a female. DNA testing will tell for sure. Although, males are more likely to talk. It is rare a female can learn to speak or whistle.
