  • beautiful song

  • " Lord the things i've seen and done most of which i'd be ashamed to tell, now i'm holding onto nothing trying to forget the past.......Oh Lord have Mercy " ~ 'Neville'

  • @zxingzxing A brilliant line indeed... God bless you my friend.

  • This says it all doesn't it? We all know who ' You know who' was. I get so angry with him sometimes but it is an anger borne of love. I will love this man until I shuffle off my mortal coil. He has been such a massive part of my life and has even, in weird and wonderful ways, directed certain aspects of it. Rest easy my wonderful friend. Almost 35 years and so many of us still counting. Thank You for everything Elvis.

  • he recorded this on the moody blue album..recorded in the jungle room

  • Elvis was more than just a singer, he was a true hero. I know he never considered himself one, but he was...

  • Another Amazing upload by Jackie, Thumbs up, and Thankyou Jackie, Long Live The King!!!!

  • I listen to this all the time - almost every night I listen to Elvis's "sad" songs just to help me through each lonely day and night since my husband passed away nearly three years ago.

  • @22Jeanie So sorry about your husband Jeanie. We are lucky aren't we to have this wonderful man to turn to at any time and to share so very many emotions. He is a huge counselling session for us people lucky enough to have lived during his time. There will never be another one that's for sure. Keep enjoying the music girl. Try slipping one or two happy songs in and let him make you smile too - it might help even more. Be strong. Take good care of yourself. Good Night. Ann

  • im 43 and have never heard this song until know brilliant voice

  • the best

  • amor amor o melhor saudades porto alegre rs 28 anos

  • He was loved by all ...

  • Genius!

  • Elvis was and is the yard stick entertainers today use to measure their music

  • @leecox321, .....if.........god bless you,elvis.

  • musica muito linda que toca no coraçao.

  • musica muito linda

  • he was like that shooting star u look at when u glance at the sky and then it fades away, maybe sort of like John F kennedy too.

  • Thanks for video Jackie. I was very sad to listen to that song. I am sure all the time he looked on his life and he said he was very lucky to have the life he was given. He also thank God very of his life just lucky he was. He said once he was at the right place at the right time.

  • My sister went to see Elvis in the early 70's at madison square garden, she told me when he walked out on stage it was like a God walking out, and he took the audience and done what he wanted with them, I am now 49 and been listening to him all my life, and if he would've been born in 1975 instead of 1935 his impact on music would have been just as great. Long Live The King, we love you and miss you.

  • @MrJake92662 Agree or have and even greater impact....will never be another one to fill his shoes.....

  • Heartfelt comments on here by the Elvis faithful.I'm deeply moved by them.

  • Comment removed

  • Why didn't Elvis just take matters into his own hands and get his life straightened out? A man with everything who felt as though he had nothing...how very sad.

  • NO-Words are good enough to say!!

Thank you so much for this awesome song, video, and Elvis!

  • when elvis sang,he was singing from the heart, and that was a gift from god!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :'( Elvis why did you have to go

  • ITS FUNNY. WHEN HE DIED AT 42 I WAS 17 AND HAD SEEN HIM PERFORM JUST 4 YEARS EARLIER AND I THOUGHT , WELL, HE WAS PRETTY OLD IT WAS ABOUT HIS TIME. HOW FREAKIN STUPID WAS THAT ? NOW IM 52 AND HE WAS JUST A BABE IN THE WOODS. HE WAS JUST GETTING WARMED UP !

  • @deannamarie29 You're 52, yet you type in all capitals like most 12 year old kids on the internet do.

  • @Munch180 Pretty sharp eyes for a 110 years old.. BTW, capitals are used to indicate saying something very loudly and also to imply that the text is written with high emotions. It is also very common to use capitals during "drunk texting". You see, there are new things to learn every day even for a 110 years old :-)

  • Very true.....why did his doctors, management and friends allow him to destroy himself......so sad....I believe if he would have fired Col Parker, he would still be with us...beautiful song...maybe he was talking about his life and Pricilla...

  • @1963Austria

I have a feeling that he was talking about his life, Priscilla & even more about Lisa. He was always trying to figure out why he was who he was & why it was so hard at times. Doctors, management, friends......they couldn't have helped him.

He wasn't destroying himself on purpose - it was just his life mission that NO ONE but God had control over. He did what he had to do here & will NEVER fall from the top of that mountain.

One day we will all understand why. I will. TCB

  • Beautiful!

  • i love how the start of the video shows pictures of his later life. Then when the part where he sings 'I'm looking back at my life' then you show pictures of him when he was younger. It makes me sob. Great job as always!:)

  • ELVIS the greatest of all time. Bar- none. his fame has reached biblical proportions. it's just stunning to see 14 year old kids as ELVIS fans. he will be rememberd long after the other so called kings are long forgotten. ALWAYS ELVIS.

  • @luvelvis2963 You can find it on a compilation album called Always on my Mind. All of the songs on there are terrific. I have it on cd, but I used to have it on record when I was a kid, and the vinyl was purple! I used to put it next to my blue Moody Blue album. Cheers, hope that helps!

  • I am whispering with admiration:"Awesome! This song gets into the heart and soul."

  • GREAT SONG, GREAT SINGER ....THE BEST SINGER OF ALL TIME

  • my mom had bought me the album "Elvis today" a few weeks before his death, I'd been listening to this 8 track when the news broke...

  • Lovely song. We love you sooooooooo much Elvis. RIP and I hope you have found happiness xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • R.I.P!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bud, we know, we know,WE LOVE YOU, not only as THE ARTIST, but we know, u,

    RIP

    dave

  • never heard before love it!!!!!!!!

  • Elvis is a great, great singer, probably the best of all time. But one thing, at least for me, puts him over the top: the Jordanaires. They add some classy old-school flair to every song. When you pick your favorite Elvis song, I bet they are singing backup.

  • thanks Jackie!!! this's a beautiful vid with amazing song!!

  • This is so beautiful my perception of this truly beautiful song is he really was Looking BACK and he was actually singing his PRAYER on this one as he did witrh many others he always found a place to position the word LORD or OH GOD or Just Help me LORD as he spoke. He was a truly beautriful man and his daughter KUDOS to her for finnaly freeing her soul and telling the world on OPRAH that she and Mickhail J did have a good and happy marriage and it was REAL..I knew it was. Hugs Bobbie

  • One of so many beautiful ballads by Elvis that never enjoyed good exposure. Songs like this proves the depth of Elvis singing ability to cover any kind of song and inject his brand of style. People don't call him "King" for nothing.

  • Only heard dis song by elvis las week , im gonna do a version of it soon , thankin u for da post ...cheers

  • Happy Birthday to me, Neville Bardoli

  • I have loved my son and I listen Elvis every day.

  • He will always be the King

  • Truly, The BEST of the BEST. Today - Tomorrow - or Yesterday. There will never be another ELVIS PRESLEY. With that GOD given voice, talent, looks and personality he had, he truly is and always will be The BEST of the BEST.

  • he was a gift and Angel from heaven to the world Virgin mary his wife may she live in peace for I am sure she suffered for her mistake to leave such a loving caring man who made her his queen. I wish I had been married to him I know I would not have been jealous. I was his queen his wife and his last first love his everything. I know such love for I too once loved a king who never married me only on paper from afar. When together again he failed to ask me to marry him and another woman did ask

  • why oh why did he have to go ...i look at the likes of andy williams , tony bennet , tom jones neil diamond ....all still performing ...and think ...if only .................god bless you elvis

  • @leecox321 i wish i would meet him in heaven god bless u elvis

im gonna be 15 and he was the only one who touched my heart

    thats unbeliveble...........

    beautiful song

  • @leecox321 he might have left this earth, but i assure,ELVIS will NEVER die my friend, people will not be talking about justin beiber in 60 years, many will still be talking about ELVIS , the spirit of ELVIS will never die, in even 80 years, people will know the name ELVIS and people will still listen to ELVIS,ELVIS's music is here to live for a very very long time my friend, STILL everyone knows this guy is SO AWESOME

  • @leecox321

I sympathize with you really. I know what you're saying.

But they weren't ELVIS. There's never been anyone like him & there NEVER will be. That's why he had to go when he did. His work was done & we'll understand more when the time is right.

REST IN PEACE ELVIS - TCB

  • A nice song by Elvis he is saying something in that song. Thank you posting. I enjoyed listening to your video.

  • I threw the best parts of my life away, just like Elvis says.

But Elvis, I'll always keep you in my heart.

  • The name of the album was called Elvis Today

  • I bought this album when it was released in 1975.

I still have it in my closet I play it every now and then it's still GREAT!!

THE KING STILL LIVES on through recordings..

    THANK YOU FOR THIS POSTING

  • Great Song.

  • DAMN THIS IS A SAD SONG. IT MAKES ME FEEL THAT IT IS ABOUT HIM...SOME OF THE LYRICS ARE SPOT ON. AND THE EMOTION SEEMS TO BUILD IN HIS VOICE AS THE SONG PROGRESSES... IT'S LIKE HE'S FEELING EVERY WORD.

  • GREAT JOB! I love it.

    Management dropped the ball.

This & numerous other songs should have been MUCH higher on the music charts in the '70's.

But, with Elvis being the only exception, numbers really didn't matter.

    LONG LIVE THE KING!

  • he wrote this song 1975?he need imediatly help - a break-i thing he need a REHAB and he was depressed, but he would stay a stronger man.i can´t understand !to be strong is not the best!

i hope he found his peaces !elvis 4 ever ever ever ever...................

  • That song is wicked..i have always loved it, listen to "i Miss You" anothe fantastic song by the King. I totally agree with the comments, if Elvis would have been allowed to write his own songs...i think things would be different now...long live Elvis and his ever cool music.

  • On a business trip from Salt Lake City to Atlanta GA, I made a detour to Memphis to see Graceland. I bought a CD in the store directly accross from Graceland with this song on it. I have been a fan of Elvis sine I was a little lad about the age of 4. I had never heard this song till I played it in my car that day. Since then this song has been as important to me as songs such as drift away, seperate ways,el paso city and johnny cash's cover of hurt.

  • I must add: i think he would have been incredible at writing his own music - especially when you consider he was essentially the producer of every record he made in the 70's IE, even though peolpe such as Felton Jarvis were officially labelled as the producers, it was always Elvis who decided what each and every song should sound like - if that isn't a record producer what is? He obviously had a fantastic ear for a good song (contrary to the greedy Colonel's coniving).

  • It's incredible to say, but Elvis was and is UNDER rated. Had he been allowed to tour Euope and beyond, had a few 'straight' movies roles and had he written his own music his true genuis would have been uncovered.

  • THe reason he wasn't 'allowed' to tour Europe (the Queen of England invited him to play!) was because the lecherous Colonel was an illegal immigrant (Dutch). Elvis couldn't tour without the Colonel's marketing expertise and the Colonel wouldn't have got back into the US had he left for Europe. Absolutely criminal if you ask me.

  • Yes you are so right, they talk about that on the dvd all the king's men

  • Beautiful and so touching video!!! thank you Jackie for sharing it ... you can touch deep inside Elvis heart and soul and feel his pain through each word of this song...

Love You Elvis for dedicating your life to your fans no matter how you felt or went through at that time... that's a precious and priceless gift I will keep in my heart forever....

  • mad elvis fan an im only 23 but never heard tat song till now ave d man is a legend

  • I hope Elvis has found his peaces in Jesu´s arms! I think he need so much a break,he was 25 jears to Entertain, with his best.....beautiful.............amazing voice. In the later jears you can see in Elvi´s eays the sparks is gone.....he had fears, and he spoke with nobady abouth his fears because he want to be a stronger Man.......... I adore him soooooo much.............he his always in my heart, for ever number 1 for me. exuse for my Englisch, i do my best,i hope ours can understand me. by

  • This is a truely amazingly lovely song, words cannot describe how much I love this song and the man himself. He puts so much effort and feeling in to every song he sung which is proberbly why he is the greatest singer of all time. Thanks Jackie for sharing this amazingly beautiful song.

    R.I.P. Elvis

  • this song is hard to listen to. Elvis fans know wat i mean

  • I would give much to be able to hear that Ashville concert - loved this video, thank you so much, it's brilliant, beautifully done, lovely choice of photos, you did a lot of work and it shows. Really, really appreciated watching this. Like me you're a true fan.

  • Written by Troy Seals. Elvis recorded it March 13, 1975 at RCAs Hollywood studios. The single release had a 10-week stay on Billboards Country chart, peaking at #33. It was the B-side to Bringing it Back. It is available on Always on My Mind, Elvis Today, and Walk a Mile in My Shoes: The Essential 70s Masters.
