I think any news organization having exclusive rights on coverage of any event is a bad precedent. When I used to live in Canada, there was definitely a stark difference between Olympic coverage by US networks and the Canadian ones, where the Canadian coverage seemed more objective, but the American stations were like US cheerleading ra ra ra.

i dunno about nbc. I mean their exclusivity only covers america, and i know that the bbc arnt that restrictive. They are gonna have highlights (as well as live coverage i think) etc on iplayer, which is becoming more and more mainstream.
