  • Just think of it society had everything planned. They could get a job UNTIL they married then the husband provided. Oh "good times" ..if you want to life a certain way.

And yeah probably quite a few ended up going the loving their sisters way. Just saying! They have to practice somewhere!

  • holy shet they were fat

  • Proper girls, no tattoos. Society was still very segregated then.

  • wow, every single person you see in this video is already dead, and most of their descendants live life as if these chicks had never even lived...life is fucking short my nigga

  • looks like a very privileged bunch

  • Thanks for posting and preserving this film. As a filmmaker and historian, I really appreciate it. There are so very few movies of ordinary people in real settings, and until the internet made it possible to freely distribute them, no one outside of the family who shot them, or a single archive with a fragile copy, could even see them.

  • this home movie shot fall 1928 prior to Hoover election. Note photos on shirts and "sweep" reference with brooms. Blond girl on tennis court focus of movies and is seen center stage in many shots as well as "smile" in brief shot holding camera and with stuffed animals. Tony girl's school New England. One year later stock market crash. Many will not return. Note 1926 Buick roadster at end.

  • What you are watching is movie film. TV had been invented but was not in the average home until the late 1940s. It became almost universal by the late 1950s. Video tape was not in use until the late 1950s

Home video cameras came into wide spread use in the 1980s. The average movie camera for home use in this time period did not have sound capabilities, though Hollywood Movies did have sound by then.

  • Historic I guess.......but ruins my romantic imagines of the 1930's.

  • How interesting! It reminds me of the girls in Angela Brazil's school stories.

  • Where are the hot chicks?

  • @capablemachine hot chicks didnt exist til the 40's

  • you sure all those cars are from the 1920's?

  • did video cameras exists then? O.O

  • No video cameras were not around then.

  • Video cameras have been around since the 1880's.

  • Rubbish..video is not the same media as film.

The earliest Film has been around since about 1890 perhaps, but that is hand cranked, not like conventional video cameras

you get now. These old films are not video films.

  • That's taking the stringent definition to try and make yourself appear smart, you are not smart. The user is clearly asking about motion pictures. The earliest known film was around in 1888 anyway. Shut the fuck up next time.

  • Thats right..you got it right that time...Film..well done!, see you can learn something new.

  • I got it right the first time, 1880's; I took the comment as what the user meant as opposed to the literal interpretation. For example when a woman says to you to drop dead she wishes you to leave her presence not to literally drop dead, although we would all be better off if you did shit your guts up and dry up and die soon.

  • of course they exsisted, silly! The how do you think they recorded ww2 in the first place? have you ever heard of silent films? google it. :)

  • C' est merveilleux!

    Merci de tout coeur!

    Marc

  • How many were lesbians?

  • @MPL029 next to none. Angelina Joli wasn't born yet.

  • @MPL029 Probably most were! And if there weren't went they went in they sure as hell were when they got out!

  • 6:33 Bad girl pose.

  • what, no shower or locker room scenes? how disappointing.

  • I agree with you boring without it.

  • I don't know about the actual years, but it can't be "fake".

  • it's not fake, look at the cars in the background at 0:27 , on the left..

  • could be a modern film depicted to look like the 1920s. hollywood does it all the time!

  • I don't see any starbucks sign

  • that's a lie, there isnt a starbucks sign.

  • WOW THis is cool!
