i think the main thins to take away from this is that the ford focus 1.6 is FASTEr from 100-0 than an ariel atom IN THE WET when the atom was in the DRY! and also the new caterham R500 will beat the atoms 0-100 time :)

I is a know fact that Suzuki Speedo for the Busa is made to read faster than the time it actually is going and I think the best way to judge this is be a machine that can be plug into each car or use GPS. the focus, unlike the caterham and probably the atom, has ABS and maybe vehicle stability control. Look at how the brakes locked up on the caterham at 45 seconds. Static friction is always greater than kinetic friction. Also a higher center of gravity can help with braking by transfering more weight to the front wheels!

Easy explanation on the Focus's braking actually. It's called Transmission Assist Braking. Basically, the Focus transmission detaches from the chassis and is dragged scraping along on the tarmac, greatly assisting the brakes.
