Batman's first appearance did have him wearing short purple gloves. Later tweaks have him wearing a pair of longer gloves similar to the what he wears now minus the blades of the sides and are in a grayish purple color closer to blue instead of dark purple.

Personally I recommend people to look for the DC Direct version instead of Mattel crap.

or did that come after? They look pretty sweet. I want the 4 horsemen to do an official Frazetta and darkwolf figure, I saw them on evay but they were awful pricey

Very cool. We must be thinking about the same action figures at the same store, because I just got First Appearance Batman and classic Catwoman from Urban-Collector yesterday. I realy like these action figures. I was going to get them at bigbadtoystore, but they don't have them in stock yet. Maybe they are waiting for Harley and Nightwing action figures before they stock Bats and Cat. My Catwoman had stuck leg/hip joints, but I got them to move this morning, so no problems, thankfully.

@randomguy4281 Yes, the hands do seem correct. I have seen other interpretations of First Appearance Batman with the purple gloves too. I believe you are correct. I like the purple gloves on him, and it makes him look unique compared to other Batman designs. The utility belt design is very cool too, I like the round center part of the belt. Back on the gloves though, they do appear to be blue on the comic book poster that came with my action figure.
