  • PANTERA

  • I have one of these. For the money its not bad. It can be dialed to imitate most other pedals in its class. It has a good range and sounds much better (heavier) through an eq pedal. A simple Boss eq will do. For those looking for that Pantera sound, set the eq to a "V" and put the morph knob around 2 o'clock, Level at 11, low at 4, and high at 2. This pedal is good if you live in a small apt. The down side- for live performance at higher volume it is useless- breaks up badly & sounds like shit.

  • will this sound for playing stuff like drowning pool such as bodies?

  • Cool pedal

  • hey when i plug my cable from my amp into the first input which is (out 2 mixer) to my amp why does it make alot of humming noise? but if i plug it in to the( out 1 amp) from my amp than it don't make no humming noise! the funny thing is i set all my setting the same but if i plug into the either input than they sound different why do it do that? all my setting is the same! thanks

  • @CTROCK The mixer out has a speaker cab simulator. Your amp already has a speaker cab. Plug into amp, no need for mixer out.

  • euronymous from Mayhem used this pedal. Before he was stabbed...

  • LOL through the fire and flames

    well im considering getting this

  • For whom the bell tolls ♫

  • Angel of Death

  • Good job. Thanks for dragging the morph setting around. It's what I needed to hear to confirm my decision to buy this today.

  • will i need a noise supressor pedal if i do this; Guitar > Metal Master > Line selector > EQ > Reverb > Amp ? I have ESP standart With Active EMG's

  • For whom the bell tolls !

  • whould the pedal work with bands like Bullet for my vallentine, Avengen sevenefold, Black Veil Brides and iron maiden... and with that i mean hevy metal and metal core styles??

  • @4220killer4220 Nothing will sound good for that shitty music exept for iron maiden

  • this pedal sounds great but im looking for something to give me that raw metal tone where you can here the "wah wah wah!" when you play. listen to this tone for example. anyone know where i can get mids like darkthrones song the dance of the eternal shadows. good songs played in this demo btw :)

  • Good work,very helpful!

You had your best Pantera sound with the Slayer riff.

  • Would you recommend this for metalcore? For example,August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, For Today, etc. I want a good and heavy distortion for breakdowns but at the same time I don't want arpeggios, sweeps, and riffs of that sort to sound fuzzy when I play them.

  • 2:38 nice... chug chug

  • can you get the same sound as the DDM ?:) if so what are the settings? because I see this pedal has no mids...

  • through the fire and flames ??

also a pretty good sounding pedal

  • If you basicly go with the Cannibal Corpse settings, and play with the morph settings, would you be able to get like the new Cannibal Corpse sound?

Because it sounds like just a little bit of difference in the clarity or what ever you could call it, and the morph seems to do just that.

  • a line 6 uber metal pedal is the best run for your money and its quality is superb.

  • Thanks for the video man and it was accurate.(;

  • God. It sounds so trashy. Like someone balling up a bunch of paper. I don't know if that's just the recording quality though. If you want a good, chunky, bottom end sound would this be good for that?

  • @G27dude You'll have to be more specific than "good, chunky, bottom end". I don't speak vagueguitartonehipsterese, but I suspect that the answer is "no". If you like Cannibal Corpse's, tho, you can't go wrong here, even tho I raped the riff with a rusty battle axe.

  • If I wanted to get an early Cryptopsy sound, would the Cannibal Corpse setting work for that?

  • whats the best pedal if you like to play music like

    A Day To Remember

    August Burns Red

    For Today

    and etc

  • ITS SOUNDS LIKE FUCKIN HAMSTERDANCE !!!! YEAAAAAH !!!

  • This pedal sounds like Nevermore, nice..I want it :)

  • If want to sound close to TooL is this pedal good for it? Thx.

  • @Tortuga699 No.

  • @BoozyBeggar Thx man.

  • @BoozyBeggar I'm looking into Digi Tech because I trust this band, which one of their pedals would you recommend for some rather heavy Punk Rock?

  • through the fire and flames!

  • wow.. what are you playing @1:11

  • what settings would i have to put this on to make the distotion sound like most metallica songs because i want to get one of these pedals and i play alot of metallica

  • @metallicaboy96 If you want Metallica sound I recommend the Metal Zone. I haven't played too many distortion pedals but of the ones I have that one gets good Hetfield chugga chugga. Metal Master is really more for extreme death metal tone, maybe thrash like Pantera, possibly some black metal.

  • @BoozyBeggar thanks

  • hammer smashed fail

  • @Deathm3t4l95 Yeah, I know, but at least you got to hear the tone.

  • How do I make it sound like metallica album ...And justice for all?

  • @dieandgoaway You sell it and buy a vintage Mesa/Boogie Mark II C+ head.

  • Well im wanting to go far a sounds that is mixed with Bullet for my Valentine and more classic metal like Iron maiden, Megadeath and other band around that areaso what could you suggest?

  • for a megadeth like tone what pedal do you think would do best?

  • @jennolund Depends on the album, I guess. For Rust in Peace I'd definitely say Metal Zone. Actually, probably metal zone for most megadeth albums.

  • @BoozyBeggar okay thanks

  • i heard some cannibal corpse hahahaha well trying to lol jk man good job

  • For Whom the Bell Tolls FTW !!!! I just need advice: could you tell me wich is better for playing like metallica between Boss ml-2, metal muff and this one? Thnk You

  • Comment removed

  • @jesusvalles54 It was correct, I just added a string so it sounded minor. You can take most DF songs and just play full 5 or 6 string chords on acoustic, it'll just sound more mellow.

  • @BoozyBeggar oh, i never thought of it as a minor chord lol that's why it sounded good, thnx for responding

  • at last a fucking review for a metal pedal done by a guitar player who PLAYS metal. I hate it when it's some blues rock player who gives advice and stuff on those kind of pedal. thanks a lot man, I think I made my choice :D

  • word of advice for anyone looking for a destortion pedal to sound really heavy and bad ass. Most destortion pedals sound really thin live and artificial If you want awesome heavy distorion that sounds chuncky and has a punch than you might want to consider a new amp. Tube amps such as marshals and mesa boogie shall do it for you.

  • Nice at 3:38 :D Thx

  • of many padals out now, what do you think is the best for metal?

this one , or the hardwire collection, or any other brand?

  • @guitarralaraja it really depends on the tone you're looking for. Gimme a band example and I might know them and be able to help.

  • @BoozyBeggar

y play metal, death metal mostly, but i dont like the tipical crude sound.. i want to have the chance to use it with a delay and have a "fat" sound, the tipical for solos with lost of gain

    greetings from chile =)

  • kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

    nice pedal??

  • i have this pedal , very good distortion for thrash metal and heavy ..

  • is this better than the digitech death metal pedal?

  • @jesusvalles54 it's not ''better'', it just depends on what type of sound you want. both are pretty much equivalent for the quality

  • God damn you pussys.Comment about this video. Metal wannabees, this video helped me a lot, dont discuss about that man.

  • sounds good. you can actually play. unlike some of the idiots that do reviews and play open chords and blues riffs.

  • for whom the bell tolls

  • I'm deciding on getting a pedal and I'm not sure which, I'm thinking this or the EHX Metal Muff.

I heard this pedal is really versatile, but can you really shape the tone well and can it get really heavy?

  • @Ploxors1 Idk, about this pedal, but the Metal Muff is definitely the ultimate metal pedal. If you want pure metal tone, go with the Metal Muff. If you want more versatility go with something else, because the Metal Muff is obviously only designed for screaming metal.

  • lol u all must be on crack or something. first someone says it sounds like children of bodom, then someone says this is the pedal dan donegan uses and then some other person says it sounds like it can give you a good killswitch engage sound. word of the hour: those lame ass guitarists WISH they could sound like this but they dont. try realistic shit like pantera or cannibal corpse.

  • Thanks for the rant and here's a thumbs up!

  • thumbs up back to ya, just keep it loud and heavy so the jets in the sky have something to compete with. lol

  • @metalhammer104 Dan does use this pedal.

  • FUCKING HOSTILE!!! :DD

    nice pedal!!

  • 2.33 hammer smashed face - cannibal corpse riff xD

  • Great demo. The settings you present here are awesome! I was thinking if I should buy this pedal or not, and this video helped me to decide. I just bought it and it's great and worth it's price.

  • Raining Blood MAAAAAAAN!!!!!.....\m/.....awesome sound when you played Raining Blood

  • i just bought this pedal and its the best metal distortion in the market. this demo sounds bad compared to when you hear it out of the amp. ppl should definetly buy it

  • hahah he played metallica for whom the bell tolls, sweet, awesome demo too

  • either way your good. have you done pinching with it? and if you have does it work on any guitar?

  • Damn your quick.

  • Your demo was helpful thanks for posting

  • Metallica!

  • metallica used ProCo rat and ibanez tube screamer pedals, and sometimes only the amps distortion

  • ProCo Rat + amp OD was Kill em All era. Metallica album (my personal favorite tone of their's) was all Mesa Mark II C+ amp head distortion I think. For the intro to Sandman James recorded the riff like 3 or 4 times. Crazy shit.

  • yeah thats right then in ride the lighting and master of puppets they used ibanez tube screamer i think but then james started to use just the amps ditortion, altought niceeeeeeee pedal

  • what guitar is this? cause i want to know if that pinch was guitar or pedal?

  • Didn't remember I did any pinching in this. That was all guitar.

Check the box up there --->

  • yeah you did pinch twice at 1:40 then again twice at 2:00.

  • Hey, I'm a guitar noob. What distortion pedals do is give us the ability to change between distorted and clean sound by stepping on the switch, right?

  • yes. they distort the sound when activated, then return to the clean setting when switched off.

  • @Kistarcsa pretty much all pedals do that, if its a stompbox it can do that, this one is,

  • This pedal was 100% worth it, who ever gets this thing, will not be disappointed!

  • i'm always amazed at the quality of digitech pedals for the price. you can't beat 'em.

  • wow through the fire and flames really?

  • this pedal is awesome. it has a great sound once you use the right settings

  • nice liquidy sounds like cob

  • Dude I suck way more than you, picked this up at GC for 20$ used and it's just what I wanted. Actually I wanted that Boss metal zone, but this comes close. Rock on........

  • Love my metal zone. Got it way back in 98 or 97 and its still the one.

  • I got it today. It kicks some ass.

  • Comment removed

  • does this pedal produce a good killswitch engage tone cause it sounds like it does to me

  • FUCKING HOSTILE! ! ! !

  • @BoozyBeggar Is this pedal suitable to have sound like Dimmu Borgir,Metallica,Emperor,Immortal and Rotting Christ???

  • Through the fire and the flames??

    XD

  • this is the pedal Dan Donegan of Disturbed uses

  • @elbee12 Doesn't he also have his own pedal like Scott Ian's Black-13?

  • if i am correct...this is his pedal...i believe i read it in Guitar World...this is his pedal made for him...but i could be wrong

  • should i get this or should i get the metal zone by boss?

  • @ironwolg Tell me what type of sound you would most want to have and your favorite bands?

  • @BoozyBeggar i want my sound to be kind of a mix of MetallicA, Dream Theater, Rusty Cooley, and Symphony X

  • @ironwolg Mmm, I wouldn't recommend the Master for you then. It's more for the extreme tones like Cannibal Corpse or Deicide. Try the Boss Metal Zone. They're about the same price.

  • @BoozyBeggar i have the Jemini distortion pedal from Steve Vai, it's cool and an awesome idea but it's just not exactly what i'm looking for. i'm not sure if i'm going to keep it or sell it though but right now i'm working with that and a Marshall AVT 50

  • metal zone !!! this is good but id personaly prefer a metal zone lol up to you tho

  • very nice pedal i love this one i got it a month or what now and i think it was worth its money alot!

  • HAHA I HEARD SOME DRAGON FORCE XD

  • I´m looking around for nice metal sounds on youtube and this is exactly the opposite of what I want. Cheap sounding, empty and weird tone. Thanks for the demo anyway

  • OHHH FUCKING HOSTILE!!!!!

  • nice TTFATF

  • Does this pedal do any good for solo's?

Cuz I want a pedal that has heavy distortion like this one AND sounds good for solo's.

  • @SephirothTheDarkener thats hard to find :(

  • it is, but you'd have to get really good at switch the setting really fast. if you want to use this pedal for both, get 2 and switch between them for rhythm and solos. that's just my opinion..

  • I have this one, and I'm really content about it's sound

However, it has feedback like hell

  • i will buy this pedal this week!!!

  • RAINING BLOOD!

Love the sound, just ordered one from eBay

  • the best pedal ever!

  • Hell ya at :20 !!!!! Metallica!

  • for whom the bell tooooooooooolls

  • and do these sound good with little combo amps you know the ones under $100

  • I have a 12" Crate combo amp I got for free, don't know how old it is, but it looks at least 15 -20 yrs old, and it sounds pretty much just like you hear it here.

  • cant decide between this or the mxr fullbore advice anyone??

  • For Whom The Bell Tolls, i love that song :], good demo

  • Are the two outputs the same or is one a clean signal?

  • How much and where?

  • hey dude will this still sound good throuhg a clean amp

  • Yeah, that's kind of what distortion pedals are made for.

  • Can't wait til I get this fuckin' pedal! I just ordered it 2 days ago.

And you're a pretty fuckin' badass guitar player, dude.

  • Grazie.

  • good demo, but will this pedal sound the way it does in the video if it's running through a clean amp?please answer.i'll greatly appreciate it

  • i have this pedal, and i think it actually sounds alot better through a clean amp. it's definately the best distortion pedal i've ever played through.

  • Comment removed

  • how could you get a good crazy train tone

  • 0:59 LOL Through the Fire and the Flames

  • dude, the sound is good enough , you dont have to really be that good, everybody gets better in time, in my opinion you dont suck at all

  • what tunning has your guitar?

  • hammer smashed face!!

  • 00:14

    for whom the bell tolls?

  • yes...

  • FUCKING HOSTILE !!!!

  • wats 3:37

  • raining blood ... slayer

  • yaaaa dragon force

  • sounds like old school slayer

  • omg i dont need the deathmetal pedal so i can play with metal master pedal deathmetal metalcore and whatever^^

    trashmetal very

  • Your comment is perhaps the single scariest thing I have ever read. Please, for the sake of the gene pool, go shove your nuts in a blender and hit purée.

  • 5 stars...because I have the same pedal...and because you played fucking hostile

  • i have this to^^

  • What's the setting for Deicide? I wanna try it out with Scars of the Crucifix. And thanks for the setting on cannibal corpse.

  • Comment removed

  • I bet it would sound 100x better if it were plugged in an amp and not in the computer

  • is it good for play metallica ?

  • no. im srry but no. its more for like nu metal like slipknot, sevil driver, that kinda stuff. i would look into a boss metal zone or metal core those are really good for metallica kinda stuff

  • how about the boss ds-1 i no alot of people say it sucks but i dont have $100+ to spend

  • No good for the big "M" sound, more for death metal like Cannibal Corpse or Deicide, but you can use whatever distortion you damn well please for whatever song you damn well please.

  • hey could the pedal if set to the right thing make like a open D on bass sound heavier, kinda i mean can it make like a bass drop

  • I play guitar, not bass. How the hell should I know?

  • id recommend mt-2 for metallica

  • this pedal sounds great

    only thing is the price

  • thats why the only way I would buy it is used

  • This pedal is so bad lol. My amp makes a better distortion than the pedal. Seriosuly. I hate this pedal, im gonna sell mine.

  • BLEEEEECCCCCHHHHH

    I disagree.

  • what's the price in euros of this pedal?

  • 75 euros

  • thanks!!

  • It was very helpful my friend

    thank you very much
