  • Good work! I'm starting to learn to use AutoCAD in my technical drawing class!

  • @cal352 Thanks! I love it :) I'm starting to learn Solidworks now... kinda makes AutoCAD seem like sticks and rocks, haha. Good luck in your class!

  • @reverbflange

Good work, I used to learn SolidWorks too but then I moved on to Autodesk Inventor. It's the same as SolidWorks, however I prefer Inventor because I have already learnt and get used to the AutoCAD interface and Inventor has a similar one!

  • @1Mperios Thank you! I am almost entirely using Solidworks now. I started to learn Inventor, but I'm in engineering school and everyone is telling me that I'll almost solely use Solidworks or Catia. They are fairly comparable though! My roots are in Autodesk ;)

  • @reverbflange Maybe I should switch to SolidWorks, I'm currentlyy studying civil engineering and was hoping to get work as a CAD technician. However, I heard from some people that Inventor is an actual CAD program whereas SolidWorks is not much, I do know that not many people specialise in SolidWorks therefore more people knowing SolidWorks will be needed. Catia is great too!

  • @1Mperios I think the engineering disciple that one heads into may very well use different programs, so it's very possible that civil may be better drawn in Inventor. Obviously Catia is primarily for the Automotive/Aerospace engineering. If you're someone that learns programs quite quickly, it probably wouldn't hurt to delve into several, that way when a career option arises that uses a different one, you have at least a head start :) I have no experience with Catia, but would love to learn!

  • @reverbflange True, thanks for the advice bro. =D

  • @Rickyle1 Sorry to reply 9 months later, I never noticed there was comments! I got the wood floor by typing command: matbrowseropen, finding the wood material in the Autocad Library I liked, then I did the command: materialattach, and attached it to the layer!

  • better then my first one, its not bad once you get going but can be a pain in the ass too
