  • damn, absofuckinglootelygorgeous!

  • heard this on Entourage, and was taken...Had to look JB up..

  • i love that he's got live musicians with him on this. this is the kind of thing that keeps music fresh. using new tools and soundscapes, but keeping musicians in the mix, which helps to keep the subtlety that is easy to lose (though not impossible to keep) in an increasingly mechanized art form.

  • OH YEAH,LOVE IT I'M GONNA MISS ENTOURAGE,they always play the hip and new

  • if you re here because of Entourage S08E03, thumbs up!

  • @jproq123 NO

  • what a performance!! he improves studio version in a incredible way!! it says talent

  • this is just absolutely incredible. I don't know of many artists that sounds pitch perfect on both their record and in their live performances...insanely talented bloke.

  • phenomenal!

  • he takes me too another world when listening to his music it messes with your head, noones ever done that before. And his lyrican content is crazy!

  • @Crystalxclear1 lyrical **

  • this man is a god

  • the mickey factz remix to this is sick!

  • MarQ Manner, you just wasted 4:00 minutes of my freaking life that I can't get get back. This crap was so horrible that I couldn't even listen to the last :42 seconds. Sweet. Let's write and repeat a bunch of useless lyrics and throw in a bunch of noises to it.

  • @masterofscotland what music are you into? and what don't you like about this? just wondering

  • @br00talKidHxC Loads of stuff, Rock, House, Blues, Jazz + loads of other stuff. I honestly just think that this guy is doing music the way he does because there's actually not that much there. It's not because it's uncoventional, trust me I enjoy far more "out there" music than this. It's also very boring.

  • @masterofscotland Do you listen to any Shoegaze, Dub or Trip Hop?

  • @thumzupp

I listen to some dub, if you mean dubstep? Trip hop if you mean psychedelic hip hop then yeh, no idea what shoe gaze is.

  • @masterofscotland Shoegaze is the My Bloody Valentine sound or more recently, Explosions in the Sky, Mono, or m83. Trip Hop is the downbeat Hip Hop sound started by Massive Attack/Portishead/Tricky... and by Dub I mean King Tubby, Prince Jammy, Lee Scratch but Dubstep's a continuation of that sound. Chances are if you don't listen to any of this music, James Blake sounds completely unconventional to your ears but being a Jazz guy you would surely appreciate the "falling, falling" 'falling'

  • @masterofscotland on dotted 8th increments as the leading bass not is falling and also the key change to the relative Major at 1:57 and back to the minor for the outro.

  • @thumzupp I don't care how technically complicated music is, I just care how good it is.

  • @masterofscotland I don't think 'good' or 'bad' really apply in this context. If somebody asked you why you liked Jimi Hendrix, it would be fairly redundant to say "he is good". Or you wouldn't hear Jools Holland say "This next band are good... Radiohead"

  • @thumzupp Obviously the word "good" is subjective/my opinion. You knew what I meant anyway.

  • @masterofscotland

Trip hop isn't psychedelic hip hop. It's called trip hop because of the hip hop influenced beats, but thats about it. It's more stuff like Portishead, or Massive Attack

  • it is a clone of Arthur Russell s 'sound'

    only he dead

    sooooooooooooo cant tour

    utter shyte

  • i enjoyed this performance very much.

  • OBSESSED

  • wow!

  • Playing these songs live must be really stressful and probably require intense concentration.

  • listening to this was like being in a dream! loved it :)

  • i enjoying his perform by seeing this video. i cant imagine if i was watching him live. he's amazing ♥

  • post-dub hmmm

  • @spiderscwein5 worst term ever

  • @br00talKidHxC how can you say that`? uchhh

  • @spiderscwein5 it's just retarded

  • @br00talKidHxC you are retarded, damn

  • @spiderscwein5 post-dub

  • @br00talKidHxC where is teh dub???

  • @mariano26788 the bass and beats

  • @br00talKidHxC what bass??? the beat?? comeon men... maybe the BPM... but this is not dub nothing

  • @mariano26788 Listen to Klavierwerke by him.

  • @mariano26788 Listen to Klavierwerke by him.

  • Feeling the performance very much.

But not feeling the new haircut.

  • Sound with lyric, this actually works better than than the recorded version . The distancing effect on the vocals as the song pinnacles beautifully renders what the chap is singing about.

  • just when i thought this guy couldn't get ay better...

  • I remember seeing James performing in a pop and jazz concert at school a few years back (he was in the year above). I think he sang Autumn Leaves or something and I remember being totally blown away by his jazz timing and soulfulness. Big congrats on making it in the business mate! Now do away with this dubstep bollocks and let loose a bit haha...

  • Unbelievable...seems to be a truly amazing artist to hear live

  • Amazing! Blew my mind

  • well that was amazing...

  • GODDAMMIT, I really liked his hair before this cut. Still, great performance

  • The lead Synth what brand is it?

  • this is the future man,

deafinately. these are the musical energies of the future coming over without doubt/.

  • @icecoldisaac86 Definitely might be the most misspelled word in the history of the internet

  • @jamesandjackproducts no i totelly dissagre

  • @jamesandjackproducts Oh fuck off you knob-end. I know how to spell it was just a slip of the finger.

    YOU FUCKING CUNT. FUCKING YOURSELF.

  • Hauntingly brilliant. Hope the album lives up to this song and performance.

  • @MartyFunkhouser00 The album has been out for some time and it's incredible!

  • @riovuaeb Thanks for that-nice one! Going to get it this week sometime.

  • Good but his EP's are much better than his album :)

  • @Alannbitchh Much agreed.

  • which synth is it?

  • R Kelly had a facial expression like; great song, but it would be so much better if I was the singer. But since it isn't about making love directly it would just be impossible.

  • such a prententious piece of sh*

  • @xintah NO U

  • @xintah The vast majority of people tend to disagree. Don't knock him til you go to a live show.

  • @keithmobify his dj sets destroy his live shows mainly because u can hear his harmonimixes. best hour of my life when he went b2b with kode9

  • @djredi2step Nah way when was this?? So wish I could have been at that set :( His harmonimixes rule but comboed with Kode9 bass that is to good.

  • @alextheodossiadis94 DMZ 6th birthday. tbh i dont think his live sets are that special. slightly bland and not too original. its his dj sets and the stuff he released on hessle, hemlock and r&s that makes him special and differentiates him from other acts.

  • @djredi2step Yeah i've seen some vids on youtube of his dj sets and they look crrazy.... loving his remix of lil wayne atm as well.

  • My soul breathed a deep breath this morning. True soul music, Anthony Hamilton and D'angelo would be proud of this young man. James Blake, your blessed.

  • This show has a variety of different acts on from different styles of music and countries.

That's what's so great about this show.

It concentrates on the music's art form.

  • oh damn! i wish i was there. the music was sick! amazing.
