But I agree that Hollywood doesn't seem to think that viewers can appreciate Eastern actresses. I liked Ming-Na in Mulan and Street Fighter, so I felt it was a bit insulting when Kristin Kreuk took Ming-Na Wen's role in the SF sequel. Sure, Kreuk's half-Chinese, but she looks far more Caucasian than all-Chinese Ming-Na does.

the real story is that in DOA:2 kasumi remembers she and her brother Hayate was used in "project eplision" thats why there is another kasumi in DOA:2

and kasumi and ayane are not companions in any way they are from different tribs kasumi is from the side of the mugun tensin side they use marshal arts but ayanes tribis is alot cooler cause she has unbeiliveable magical powers.

Kasumi was part of project alpha actually, but they're both the same thing :P Except Alpha was successful on at least two ocassions (Kasumi X in DOA2 and Alpha 152 in 4) and epsilon was a complete failure that resulted in Hayate's amnesia.
