  • Hello there,

I have had this condition since february this year. It began when I began training BJJ=brazilian jiu jitsu, a grappling sport. I have tried massage, icying, elbow splint, therapy sessions, ultrasound, accupuncture, kiropractic and the Penetrex anti-inflammatory cream but none seems to fix the problem. I have also tried resting it for 10 days but it showed up right away.

Now I just try to strech the muscles around thoroughly and take good warmup.

    Any thoughts guys? Pleaseinform!

  • i have this i was sprinting and tripped and hit my tendon really hard in the track, i cant even move up or down

  • I am pretty sure this is what I have, I work out a lot and it is hurting a lot when I do curls or when I am doing pull-ups. I went to see my Doc about it and he gave me a scrip to go get a tennis elbow strap, I got one that has a gel pac built into it. He also recommended applying ice to the area.

  • @MNRick041 Yeah I think I have the same problem..I use the arm curl machine at the gym then I feel pain.

  • @83056 Yeah, those curling benches really put the pressure on it and cause me pain. The dumb bell curls are not so bad but if I do them on a curling bench it is worse. With the pull ups I can do them chin up style without pain but the other way, with hands facing me, those cause pain.

  • @MNRick041 How do you manage...did you change your workout routine?

  • @83056 I just try to avoid or limit the things I know will cause me pain. I can still do curls, just not on a curling bench or if I do I do not use a lot of weight. The only things that really hurt are exercises where I am curling or pulling with that elbow. Benching is still fine, I can do a lot of things without pain, I just had to adapt and try other things. If you continually aggravate it you will only get worse, just try to take it easy on the elbow.

  • @MNRick041 Right on...thanks for advice

  • @MNRick041 the curling benches cause the pain because most people use their wrist at the top of the curl to try to build a peak on their biceps, using your wrist like that is what causes tennis elbow. It's how i got it, don't break your wrist when you do curls, keep them locked.

  • @jeffreygipson1 Same here. I've been lifting weights for years and all of the sudden the pain is nearly unbearable in both my elbows when working biceps and some other exercises like pull-ups

  • I ´ve had very little pain in my inner elbow only with some specific movements at the gym , should I keep working out ?

  • Well spoken, explained and to the point with treatment options. If only all videos of this type were as carefully presented. Thanks!
