How To Maintain a Hot Tub : Plumbing Maintenance in a Hot Tub

I have been offered an "Emerald Spa", from a friend, free, having said that just wondering if you have any feedback on this mfg. It seems to work just fine, water is hot, jets seem to work fine but when I depress blower nothing happens. It is still installed at friends home but seriously thinking about taking him up on this offer. your thoughts?
