iPod touch is only for Music and apps. I don't see any reason why you would want to put a ringtone on iPod touch??

you dont have to use the windows part just right click the created ringtone press copy then go to ringrontes/tones and click edit and then pase and its there! :)

This is great! My iPhone has just "tone", not "ringtone", and I figured that out, but did anyone else lose all their music on their iPhone when they synched the ringtone? When I clicked Synch Tones, a message said that would remove all music from my iPhone, I clicked it anyway. I did get the ringtone, but all my music did disappear from my iPhone. Then, I re-synched my music and everything is good - music and ringtone are on iPhone, but is there a way to avoid this re-synching step?

Everyone, I found the solution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you did all the steps correctly but still you don't see the ring tones on the list, do this.

Instead of putting 0:40:0 put 0:20 don't change the end (example: 0:20:546).

Hope this helped, I didn't see the ring tones on the list until now.

Guys, once you have the .m4r file already, try selecting the file then press Edit -> Delete -> Delete Song -> Keep File. Then open back the windows folder and drag the file to the "Tones" section. Worked for me :)!
