I have been viewing many organists on YouTube for many months now, and as non-organist I am completely mystified as to how organists are able to do so much at once and still create such wonderful performances. Madame Sophie-Veronique is marvelous, and sthis piece sublime. I hope to have the privilege of hearing her perform live some day at St Sulpice.
Some of the most sublime music ever composed for the symphonic organ. This is a most impressive performance on a fabulous instrument recorded in one of the grandest acoustic spaces on earth. This work simply resonates with profound reflections upon the highest elements of spiritual truth, great beauty and everlasting art.

First of all, this piece is not that difficult. It's beauty is in the feeling, as said elsewhere in this fill, in the "spiritual truth". Why would it be impossible for a non professional, but serious player, to give a good version of the piece. For an optional audience, or for himself/herself? Definitely, I don't feel that insane...
Once more, and like every time with Mme Choplin, very expressive interpretation, sensibility, subtlety... And Widor, Dupré, Vierne, on St Sulpice organ, it is Paradise on Earth !
omg, for a second i though that the great st. sulpuce flutes were out of tune! It turned out that it was just the tuning difference between this recording and one that i was just watching, Phew!
this is the best performance i've ever heard of this wonderful piece. You're playing wonderful. And this wonderful organ sounds like a dream. I was in Saint Sulpice a month again. I've seen and heard the instrument at the 10.30 mass. It is my famost organ i know. Thank you for posting this video.
Man, I've always thought of Cavaille-Coll organs as the grandest of the grand, but not necessarily the greatest when it comes to clarity. But her playing is so well-phrased that I'm hearing things in this piece that I hadn't ever heard before. Brava!
Très bien joué--bien élégante interprétation de cet oeuvre. Bravo-

Respire bien sa musique.
Il doit-être quand même difficile de se concentrer aux moments ou la mécanique enterre la musique.
Bravo !

Sometimes I misread her name as Sophie-Véronique CHOPIN. Extremely beautiful playing.

@27bibi27 you're insane to make such comments about one of the worlds best organist.

I love Sophie!!!! Beautiful playing!
Love the interpretation and the tempo! I really feel that Widor should never be rushed - and I think most people play this too quickly...
This is such a wonderful video. Thanks for posting!
