It seemed to me a logical extension of your silly generalization. One could argue that people who eat healthy are only doing it to be thin/lose weight- just as one could say that people who exercise are only in it for the same reasons (looks as opposed to health).

For some people the gym is really the best/only option for getting exercise- for ex. in urban areas or unsafe neighborhoods- I'm not going running in my hood at 6 am!

Keep in mind what my original post was directed at, it wasn't all people who go to a gym.

Hyper masculinity is about role remodeling and is offensive to many people (ahem) and its not about being healthy.

Its not that I'm against exercise (I even do it sometimes), I'm against fetters to self to self creation (i.e. being told how I should or shouldn't be man) that can make one neurotic.
