in my opion the best two mimi's are Daphne rubin vega and rosario dawson. they both brought so much into the role as mimi. Daphne as that high pitched edge with some grit in it, and rosario has that playful side of mimi and the hope and love to it. both of their dances was great , daphne on the railing doing dangerous stuff that she makes look so easy. while rosario if sexy and shows mimi's s&m dance at the cat scratch club , and is confident enough to be able to wear the outfit

Daphne is the first, best, and only Mimi for me. She belts out those notes while taking risk that the other girls didn't and probably couldn't. That backbend of Daphne's while belting out the high note while wearing heels on a 1.5 inch thick rail is awesome and a sign of true talent...there was some good singers, but the entire embodiment of Mimi is handsdown Daphne...

Daphne is obviously the best imo. She is and created Mimi. There's a reason why these girls, aside from the movie, are copying her. Second best, easily, is Renee Goldsberry which troubles me how she isn't in this video.

I think Rosario was the best Mimi. Most of the others either portrayed her as either a bad-ass, (mainly Renee, she was too intense for me) or super sweet, (Vanessa Hudgens) where Rosario played both parts VERY well. You can tell she's having fun, but she's also giving off a caring and sweet vibe. :3

i think it was sung well i just dont like that whenever someone sings a song from someone else's work the tune is different. as part of the audience and loving rent i like to hear what i remember singing along to... and when things are in a differnt key or a note i find myself lost in singing along.. They are all so talented but Daphne will always be my favorite. She is the true spirit of Mimi--I think that is why Jonathan picked her. The character of Mimi is an alleycat...a 19yr old junkie stripper that has lived and seen way too much of the hard side oflife. Daphne nailed that essence. They others are too "smooth" and "trained" for me. Just my opinion.

All the Mimis have different strengths. Daphne actually seemed like a cracked-out S&M dancer (that's totally a compliment), Jamie Lee was an amazing dancer and I loved her acting. Antonique had awesome vocals. I heard Simone was an amazing Mimi, but she was before my time. I have nothing to say about Tamyra, and I think Karen Mok was considered one of the worse Mimis, but woo at an Asian one. lol. God I wish TV Carpio had been able to go on.

I have only seen Rosario, Renee and Daphne, but I've Heard Jamie Lee. I try not to say "Oh, the OBC HAVE to be the best becaue they were the first" and I try not to hate the other actors/actresses in that part because they're not my favorite. I guess I'm saying that the character should remain the character, regardless of whether the person playing them is different. Each actor (Actress, in this case) brings something to the role that makes the character more flexible.
