The rider plays a much larger role than the driver of a car. A better rider (a racer more familiar with this particular track and bike) could have beat the porsche by 10 seconds. Driving a car fast is 90% car, 10% driver. Riding a motorcycle fast is 90% rider, 10% bike.

Bikes are slower than cars. Period. If someone are in doubt, just check the time laps in the same racetrack of racing bikes in comparison to GT1, GT3, P1 whatever... I'm not even mention open-wheelers cars.

I have ridden the 2010 cbr 1000. A friend of mine lent it to me for a weekend. It is one of the best handling bikes EVER.Ill give it that. I feel like it has more pick up than the gixxer 05 to be exact. We run top end WHEN* on the street. A road with 10+ mile straight away RT50. ZX10 all years is the fastest.Gsxr are nice but need 100% full throttle with no drop off to keep up.Cbr has beast mid range, but takes a while to catch up but better than the gixxer. Gsxr has mo torque, and mo fun 2 ride

I don't know about y'all but I wouldn't be pushing too hard with that car back there. They should have included a few hot laps with the vehicles seprately; with both on the track it is just an exhibition. The car guy might have been slowing to keep from crowding the bike, the bike might have been going a little easy in the turns to keep from crashing in front of a car... This is exactly why bikes go to a track- to keep from getting hit by cars.

The CBR1000 is the SLOWEST of the 1000's. They say it handles very nice, but is still the slowest!

@caveman357 its quit ovious you dont know anything about the current liter bikes! your statement would of been true if this was 04-07 and that was a 04-07 CBR1000. but this is 2011 and thats a 08-2011 CBR1000 and its THE FASTEST japense liter bike, and its been since 2008 and was only taking off the throne from the BMW S1000RR, the zx10 is the only bike out the other big 3 jap liter bikes that can keep up with it, and the R1 is the slowest bike due to least HP and most wieght!

@barcode0954 You must be talking out of your ass! the CBR is ALWAYS the slowest liter bike. The zx10 is always the fastest. The cbr has good midrange, which makes it excellent in the corners, but the zx10 dominates over it in the top end department. Bone stock bikes. You should go by a track, or better yet, go to a dealership. and see what im talking about. real riders, know what i mean. Just do your resaerch before making comments like that. THANKS!!!

@caveman357 IF you were a true kawaski fan instead of just a kawaski rider, you would of know the zx10 fell off a while back after the 1st. gen zx10 kawaski has fail to produce another zx10 has brutal and aggressive as the first one, the new zx10 is even calm and tammed then the 2010-2009 one...i can back what i say up, shit check your in box ill show you links of shootouts 1/4mile times. but for the new zx10 will have to wait in see till the next liter bike shoot out

@barcode0954 Trust me, i know PLENTY about the 10. Ive been riding them and gixxers for years. In ine shoot out, the honda beat the 10, by 1.5 seconds in the quarter mile. But that was just 1 review that said that. Any track rider, or drag racer knows that when it comes to TOP END, the Kawasaki is always first. That was my point. Nice try tho, LOL. But you loose. On the track it was debatable....but for wheelies, i got to say the Honda 954, was really sweet!But that was a long time ago man... Everyone knows that the 10 is the fastest. Hondas never win on the drag strip & Magazines lie, just like dealers, cause Honda pays them to do so. And how u gonna switch track times with the 10, and put a CBR in its place. SAD.

@barcode0954 See thats your problem. All you do is read magazines& websites. iVE BEEN RIDING FOR YEARS,AND SEEN ALOT OF BIKE ACTION. All youve done is quote, this and that. Around here Buds Creek, VIR, Summit point, we race and see bikes all the time. Hondas are good. Expecially the new one. Beast midrange and excellent handling, but for all out top speed and performance, the 10 kills it! It is the most reliable bike, ill give you that. But in the end, its all down to the rider.

@caveman357 sry for the late response, but i dont like taking riders opinions or the "life expriences" because nearly every of them lie! there are riders who think and then claim there stock 600s do over 180mph..everyone and there mom think that they can buy a hayabusa and hit 200mph. to get actully real resualts you look at shootouts and the testing not go to the track because in the shootouts the bikes are on equal ground to 1 another ..i have already stated its down to the rider also

@spearsfayer Porsche GT3 997 reaches 312 km/h by Porsche statement, proved...but in the speedmeter in highway with perfect conditions it can reach 330 kmh !!! Just youtubet and you will find it.
